SNY Wheelhouse: "Eric Mangini might be next Penn State HC"!
:eek::eek::eek:
Will the STINK of Bellicheat ever rub off of this guy?!?! I cannot believe what he did with the Jets and Browns is a factor here - especially considering how he was NOT liked by the vast majority of his players. Granted he did have a small amount of coaching experience on the college level on his resume, but, friggin PENN STATE??? Maybe 2012 is the END of the world and this is one of the signs :steamin: |

SNY Loud Mouths: "Norv Turner possible replacement for Schotty"
OC for Dallas and the Redskins and looooves to run that ball. A great fix for Rex, but, would Norv take the job after being "dissed" earlier in the year?
Personally, I'm sick of our offense which really hasnt changed very much since Herman took the reigns 10 years ago. I'm read for an offense that can score 21 points in a quarter if it had to. If the Cowboys have receivers that are "100x more physical than the current Jet receivers" (SNY) then we've got a problem IF we really want to get to a Super Bowl. |

I know I am going to get flamed but I think Mangini will eventually be a very good coach. He has to learn to adjust to the media and "new school" players. I think working at ESPN is going to help him with this. He is changing his image.
He is a great talent evaluator. Even when you factor in Gholston, his drafts were a smashing success. Brick, Mangold, Revis, Keller, Harris. |

the talent pool for coaching is very shallow. there are dozens of NFL teams where the fans think the coaches should be fired but there are few people who really can be considered true upgrades on existing coaches. the same can probably be said about QBs as for Mangini he's probably the 6th big name floated ( pettine was a previous name) I dont think anyone really wants this Penn State job. |

_[/QUOTE] Yes, it could be epoch or epic depending on what country you live in and what century. I guess you didnt see my other post on Shakespearian spellings. But, anyway, enjoy the theatre tomorrow. Are you seeing "Colours"? :) |

They beat NE, NO and nearly us last season, with virtually no skill position talent and a rookie QB. And they are much worse without him this year, fwiw. He wasn't a bad pro HC. Wasn't particularly great, either, but there are at least 10 current HCs I'd take him over. |

Signing Mangini would be an epic PR fail for Penn State. They badly need someone who has a clean history and is a proven winner. Mangini is neither.
