Beer Thread: 2012 style

Tripel Karmeliet: Fukcing awesome beer. Absolutely love it. Sweet and dry with a great finish. Careful though, 8.4 ABV

Ah one of my favorites.

If you liked that, try the Westmalle Tripel.

Some of these beers have such a high ABV and its dangerous because you cannot even tell.

Will have to check out the Westmalle

Tripels are always high in ABV and you're right they're pretty deceptive. Great winter beers. I actually prefer the Westmalle over the Karmeliet, but both are excellent.

Speaking of high ABV I tasted Bush Biere de Noel (Christmas beer) at 12%. I was expecting the alcohol to cover everything, but it was surprisingly good.

Had this for NYE. Wasn't great but definitely wasn't all that bad and was a good beer-drinker's substitute for champagne:

Also had some of these:

Bought a couple of bottles of the Infinium for my buddy for NYE, he's not a champagne drinker so he was happy to have the bubbly in beer form. I had a glass--not bad but nothing I'd buy regularly.

Someone bought me two bottles of the Sam Adams Oak Barrel collection, the stout and the red ale.

Will probably try this weekend.

I wanted to like this Belgian because of the cool label, but I found it too sweet.

It was good, but not as chocolatey as I expected. Left Hand also makes a milk stout that's pretty good. I was just looking for chocolatey as in Young's Chocolate Stout...that stuff is amazing.

Joe-Mama's Milk Stout by Keegan Ales. Quite possibly the worst named beer ever, but its amazing.

Sierra Nevada, natch. It's mean, it's green...after 3 of these (lightweight!) you'll feel that Mo Wilk just threw you for a safety.
