McElroy is not the answer

I don't understand all of this McElroy love and people wanting to see "what he has". What has he done? He played well in the preseason against scrubs. His arm strength is below average at best. It's the same situation we were in when people were in love with Brett Ratliff. And where is he? Exactly. McElroy will be our 3rd QB again next year b/c I see them bringing in a better veteran alternative for the #2 spot. He is not starting material and his skills are very limited.

As soon as anyone sours on our starters, they start to believe we have the next HOF'er sitting on the bench behind him. If ONLY the coaching staff would "give him a chance" so that we could "see what he's got".

Brett Ratliff and David Clowney are two shining examples. :)

I like the kid, but his arm in the preseason made Chad Pennington look like a gun slinger.

He won every game in HS.

He is a winnar.

His leadership skills have been compared to Leonidas.

He wore the same number in college as Joe Namath.

What more do you need to know?

You just described Tim Tebow,(except the same number as Namath) would you want him to be your QB?

He reminds me a lot of Pennington too, and I doubt he is the "answer" but I do believe that he deserves a fighting chance to prove himself in camp next summer.

at least he has the balls to speak up and show some leadership qualities..did he break locker room code? probably but if the starting qb would have stepped up as a leader maybe mcelroy didnt have to say anything on the radio!!

After what he said, McElroy can not be on this team next year. He just made himself a target and no one will want to be his teammate. Im sure what he said is accurate, but a 3rd string scrub should not be dishing this out in an interview.

McElroy was on IR... Def not starting material... Clipboard holder maybe, lets see if he makes it though the preseason before he becomes the next Pat Ryan. Right now he is Brett Ratcliff at best....

Ah, the annual "let's give our 3rd string qb a chance, he could be a star" lament...come on, let's try to dig up obscure Jets backups that would have been great if given the chance -

How about Brooks Bollinger (kind of got the chance)?
Troy Taylor?

We need another Tom Tupa...he could punt and QB if needed. TJ Conley is the worst punter in the NFL and Tupa would probably have done as well as McElroy would do!

The best McElroy can attain in the NFL is a #2 QB. He's basically Pennington
with possibly a lesser arm

Well with Sanchez throwing the ball to the defensive backs we aren't going anywhere either. If you don't play McElroy you will never know.
