Where can I get quality cheap suits?

Got a new Job, woohooo, only lame part is that it is business professional.

Where can I get decent but not to expensive suits (looking to spend 200 but ideally more like 100-150 per).

I heard Jos A Bank has decent deals....any other suggestions?

Men's Warehouse has decent quality and prices for off the rack. And I believe they offer free alterations.

Make sure that any suit you buy the pants have sufficient material to be let out.

I remember when I went in there years ago just trying to get socks, and they would not stop harassing me to buy all this crap I didnt want. Just for socks.

Maybe I'll give them another chance, but they really rubbed me the wrong way.

I hate that upselling crap and now that you mention it I think I ran into that there too. But if you're up front no-nonsense firm no to those pitches the salesmen usually get the message and knock it off.

Try a department store -- Macys, Penneys, Kohls, Sears, etc. Just bought an interview suit for my son in college and the dept stores had pretty good selection of suits for less than $200.

Nothing like a $100 suit to impress the new boss.

You can buy vintage suits on eBay for like 75 cents. My roommate did that once for a Halloween costume. I hear wide lapels are coming back.

Congrats on the new job. If Macy's is having a sale you can get a good brand name suit cheap.

Jos. A Banks is waaaaay overpriced. They have sales pretty much every other day - ridiculous stuff like buy one suit get 2 free. That one suit is around $600 bucks or so. Personally, I don't think their the quality on their low end suits is all that great. Department stores like Macy's have big sales this time of year.

Probably the most important thing is getting it properly tailored. A poor tailoring job can make a $1000 suit look like a $50 suit and veice versa. If you have a good tailor, you can actually go to Goodwill and buy a high quality suit for next to nothing, have it altered and you're all set.

Paulie is actually right. Nothing could make you look worse that a suit that is tacky and doesn't fit right. And this is coming from a plumber

Spend a few bucks, get it fitted in needed.
