That said, the smart 1/8 of my personality says go for a more experienced QB. Someone like Cousins, Lindsey, Weeden, or Foles. Last edited by Much ado about Nothing; 01-20-2012 at 02:10 AM. |

Your trade-down compensation seems a little too generous. Recall in 2010, the Fins traded down from like 10 to 28 and only picked up an extra second rounder.

Swapping picks would not be nearly as beneficial in terms of picks coming back as you put here. The Jets will get a 2, and maybe 4 or 5 for moving down to the mid-20s... not an extra 1 next year.
I don't like the signings much, mostly the Burress resigning and I'm not convinced Mathis is the solution here either. I'd like to give Maybin a legit shot with some capable LBs and safetys behind him to pick up the slack. Scott isn't cutting it and it's time for him to go. Landry would be great. Not a fan of Brock, not at that spot anyway. I love your last 4 picks, all of them, very much. Vernon and Bradham have the athleticism to be great, which is all you can ask for in a late round pick. Lester is a stud. |

Has bad mechanics, arm is average at best, doesn't have good accuracy, shot puts the ball, played out of the gun... The guy is not even as good as Eric Ainge. Watch him against Boise State... The only passes he completes are check downs... and half those are behind the rb. Watch him against USC and he throws about 25 screen passes. I wouldn't be happy with this guy period... 2nd round is flat out crazy. |

According to a projection based on the work by the dude that has been like 90% success on the comp picks the last few years the jets have 4 comp picks coming.

Either way it's good news because they need to add some depth to this team. I'm sure they will just trade them all away though. |

I don't want Burress back under any cicumstance. No more dinosaurs or ex-cons. We need to get younger and more dynamic at receiver, Burress is totally useless between the 20's at this point. The only thing the guy is good for is jump balls in the redzone. Give that role to a guy like Patrick Turner or draft a big receiver, be it a guy like Jeffery or Floyd in the 1st round or Nick Toon or Dwight Jones in the 2nd/3rd.
And if I'm drafting a QB in the 2nd, my personal favorite is Nick Foles. Maybe the most NFL ready QB in the draft after Luck while Osweiler is more of a project. Although I still think we'll just sign a young vet like Quinn or Henne to push/backup Sanchez. I think we have to add another LB as well, be it through FA or the draft. Thomas is most likely gone and judging by the reports, so is Bart Scott. We can't go into next season with guys like Mauga and Westerman as starters and expect to field a top notch defense. Other than that, I really like the Glenn, Fleener, and Wright picks. The addition of Landry in the secondary would be a pretty big plus as well. |

I dot get the problem with Burress. He's dominant as a possession WR and there's plenty of youth and speed thrown to the WRs and offense in general. I'm not into the idea of a team built to hand out hugs and kisses to Sanchez. With Wright and Holmes there would be killer speed at WR. 99.9% of improvement in the passing game will come because if Sanchez or whoever improves the QB play here anyway.

It would not kick ass because it does not stand a chance of happening. move down 10 spots in the first for and get 2 #2s and a 4th? When has a trade been made for such a abundance of picks. you move down 10 spots and get a 2nd your doing good. Robert lester is staying ins school, Landry may require ankle surgery on his achillies. Flemmer is a guy you already have. |

Ten spots?
Lester back in school "sucks." it gets quotes because school is, in fact, cool. |

Do you think the jets are going to get all these picks for moving down in the first without going down a minimum of 10 slots? the jets are picking at 17 the pats have two picks at 27 and 30-32. that leaves 2 or three teams for the trades to trade with. Which of those teams do you see trading all those picks"
Balt has 4 FA that they need to sign, I don't see Newsome trading his draft. The Giants, I dont see those two teams trading with all the bad blood. SF has Smith, Staley, rogers and Goldson as FA that may need to be replaced. That leaves the Packers as the only team, and they may if Richardosn is there. |
