Defense First Offseason and Draft

We need to revamp our LBs and safeties to get some speed on defense. We also have a great opportunity to move around this draft as there should be 3-5 OTs available in the 2-3rd round that we can target and we will also have some compensatory picks that will allow us to use our own picks to move up if necessary.

From a FreeAgency standpoint the focus needs to be on Michael Griffin. Although inconsistent, he has the speed and talent that we need at the position. The second target should be Braylon as long as he is healthy. He and sanchez had a good rapport and he should be able to be the downfield target we need and will come at an excellent price.

After that I wouldn't mind seeing us look at a TE like Dressen.

Draft

Round 1 - Courtney Upshaw. Day 1 starter, strong, quick OLB that can rush the passer, play the run, and has a fiery personality.

Round 2 - Move back if possible and select Levy Adcock. He is a strong, road grading RT who was a leader on the Ok St oline. Should be available in the late 2nd round and allow us to pick up a "chip" by moving back a few spots.

Round 3 - LaMichael James We would probably need to move up in the 3rd round and should be able to use our extra picks to do so. James would give us a game breaking option on offense and another option at RB.

Round 4 - George Iloka Safety, Boise St. At 6'3 215 he has good size to help cover the huge TEs we will be facing for the foreseeable future.

Round 5 - Best available WR Someone like BJ Cunningham would be great but he could be gone. I also would be ok with ryan broyles here as his injury should make him a nice value pick

Round 6 - Kyle Wilber OLB Wake Forest 6'3 240 who can be a potential 3-4 OLB Long arms, good pass rusher, can possibly develop into a contributor in 2013.

Round 7 - Quentin Salusberry C/OG Miss St. Has experience playing C, G T in his college career. Can be developed into a Robert Turner type player to backup Guard and Center.
