Love that song. Thanks for the clarification, Jumbalaya. How many posts before folks get PM privileges? |

Back in the 70s, once I found out Entwistle and Squire used them, I switched over to Rotosound, round wound, electric bass strings. They were amazing, and I never went back to anything else.
Recently, I saw the video below, which is a telling of Rotosound's history. After which, I bought some of their acoustic and electric guitar strings. (Usually I stick with D'Addario Phosphor Bronze for acoustic and Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky for electric.) I'm still testing them out, but the quality and sound is very, very good and comparable to my usual strings. |

Squire makes pickin a bass cool man. The Roundabout bassline is one of the best ever IMO.

I used the D'Addario half rounds on my fender Precision back in the day.....I never liked the Chris squire/Geddy bass sound for me. I liked more bass, Entwhistle, JPJ etc... |

If I had the money, my next guitar (electric or acoustic) would be a Collings. Here's a nice piece with Bill Collings and several of their craftsmen/luthiers.

This is one instrument I would LOVE to learn how to play. Anyone ever played a Chapman Stick? Truly an amazing instrument.

It is phenomenal, you can essentially play a full base line and lead guitar sounds with one instrument and as you can see you don't pluck the strings. If you ever get the chance to hear someone play one live do it, you will be amazed.

Great story involving David Gilmour and this gorgeous sounding Fender Jazz Bass. Pratt has worked with myriad musicians. He also married late Pink Floyd keybordist Richard Wright's daughter.
