When my older son was born, the nurse used a wheel chair to bring my (ex) wife and newborn son out to the car. It was the law in CT that they had to make sure the infant was properly harnessed into the car seat. I was actually pretty nervous because I had never really dealt with infants before but I carefully put him in the seat and buckled him in.

It wasn't until we drove home that I realized that the car seat wasn't actually secured to the car at all.
