He still can't play football. This is simply a PR move to sell more f*cking jerseys. If they really wanted to fix the locker room problem they would have shipped Holmes's lazy @ss out after he quit on the team. Having Tebow on the team will be a huge problem. Should have signed Tebow to be a consultant if they are only worried about fixing the locker room.
As a full-time QB? No. In Brad Smiths former role? Outside of Cam Newton, I'm not sure there's a player whose skillset is a better fit for that role in the entire NFL. |
You're acting like we signed Kony 2012 to be our Wildcat QB, sheesh.
We signed arguably the nicest guy in the NFL. If anything, he's FAR more likely to help diffuse situations in our locker room then to cause problems. If there's an issue, it's more outside of the locker room where you're going to have to deal with a lot of dumb media reports.
If the locker room issues were simply about guys not liking each other, that might be one thing. It's clear that the biggest locker room issue with the 2011 Jets was divided opinions on Mark Sanchez. How is bringing in a polarizing QB going to help that, no matter how nice he is? |
If the "virtual" competition (because from a QB skills perspective there is no real competition) causes Sanchez to wilt, he should not be the Jets QB. If the only thing this move accomplishes is it shows us Sanchez is not the QB of the future, I say great. It saves me from wasting the next ten years rooting for him and the Jets can start looking for a new QB.
Sanchez won't wilt because of the competition. Like you said, Tebow couldn't carry Sanchez's jock as a passer. Tannenbaum has just put Sanchez in an incredibly difficult situation -- the media and fans will be dogging him from day one. This isn't the equivelent of "if he can't handle the pressure he's not the guy" stuff. He's been railroaded, IMO. He needs to come out playing like a pro bowler for the first five games to even have a chance. |
ESPN.com frontpage poll -- who should start, Sanchez or Tebow?
Tebow winning. This is a nightmare.
LOL, its a nightmare because people like you have thin skin and get upset by an ESPN poll. "Oh no, our QB may get hurt feelings because people on an ESPN poll think Tebow should be QB." How about sanchez play better and end all of this nonsense. |
I saw that. WE need to get on there and vote Sanchez.
People agree with each other too much here. Tebow is just what the doctor ordered for this board... a polarizing figure. Now we can have something we never had before- arguments! :P
