Tebow stats as starter not including postseason 8-6 so this is less then full season with a handful of snaps in other games.
-3200 combined yards. - 29 combined TD - 13 combined TO. - 7 game winning drives in 14 starts. He's inconsistent and streaky like sanchez. He actually throws a nice deep ball but is inconsistent in the short game bc of mechanics and footwork. He won't be starting for us but he is not as bad as people think.
I agree, non-conventional but he's not nearly as bad as people think here when you take everything into account. I was looking at stats today and he's better on 1st and 10 than Mark by a considerable margin... Less plays, more yards/play and 6 Tds, 2 int's... Vs 1 td and 6 int's for Sanchez... success on first down is absolutely huge. It might not always look pretty, but People thinking the Jets are doomed if Tebow ends up the starter are wrong. Mark will score more, Tebow will control the clock and have less turnovers... |

Even the Turnovers, he does not throw alot of INT but he does not throw many passes and he fumbled 13 times in 11 games, i realize this is because he rushes alot but it is still 13 fumbles.... Threw 1 less INT per 100 passes than Sanchez last season.... I do not think the Jets will be doomed as i think Tebow has shown he is a winning player but it is funny to me how the "new" guy who has worse accuracy and plays worse for a majority of his games and fumbles more than Sanchez is thought to be an upgrade..... Another big knock on Sanchez was he stunk the last 3 games with the playoffs on the line (which he did) however Tebow and Denver were 8-5 also....Lost the last 3 games with the playoffs on the line....How did Tebow hold up?.... 30-73...40%....1 TD.....4 INT....5 fumbles(3)lost and 13 PPG....
Okay, don't jump off any bridges, Sanchez gang. Just curious what the consensus is:
Let's say Mark Sanchez gets injured in game eight and Tebow takes over. How much better, worse, or similarly do you think the Jets will do for the rest of the season? In other words, how much more or less overall does Tebow bring to the table compared to Sanchez?
Sanchez and Tebow are basically the same QB - different styles with the same result, low to medium performance most of the time with a few great plays mixed in this can help the team if both stay healthy or one becomes consistently good |

This thread shows how insufferable this season is going to be on this board.
The talent that took us to two afc championship games....the top defense and rushing team in 09, and top 5-10 in 2010. The talent that had many state we were a sb contender in 10 and 11.
In Denver they were the second worst team in the league before last year, and had a record of 4-14 w/o Tebow in the last two years.....
The 2009 Jets were a talent laden team, no doubt. If Schottenheimer didn't scare Favre away Rex may have won that Superbowl. Not really sure of the logic of comparing Tebow's 2011 team to the Jets 2009 2010 teams. While the 09 team was dismantled, the Broncos had Miller and Dumervil, and better WR's, among other positions. |

The Sanchez people make it sound like he's Drew Brees or something. Sanchez is a better passer (he's bad Tebow's awful). Tebow is a better runner and leader. The Defense and 4 games against Dolphins/Bills put us at 8 wins but whether we have Sanchez/Tebow/McElroy at QB doesn't really matter. After another season with below 60% completion can we all agree to stop calling Sanchez a "young developing QB" it will 4 yrs by then.
I'm getting used to him being a "weapon" on our team in different packages.
But he IS NOT an NFL QB, if he played a full season we would be lucky to win 6 games
Huh...win 6-games? He started 11 games last year and went 7-4 and including playoffs 8-5. |
