It's like saying "Sanchez is good in the playoffs". We can't have both.

There was a reason McKnight played behind an aging RB (LT). Until proven otherwise, he's McKnight the backup. God Bless him, i hope he runs for 3000 yards.

Or should we anoint Sanchez the Superbowl MVP right now?

Makes you appreciate guys like Jones. Even when there wasn't a hole Jones could still get 3-4 yards b.c he ran low and hard. He made his mind up quick and hit the hole. Sometimes these RBs think too much. The holes aren't going to be big to begin with and once you hesitate it is gone.
This might be true, the point is he didn't have this issue in his first season. That's because almost all of his carries came behind a line that was playing well, in a game where he was the guy, got into the flow, got carries and performed.

His second season, behind a sh1tty line with most of the few carries he got scattered across the season and injured much of the time, he didn't look as good.

Shocking.

Apparently not difficult enough.

Have some more Kool-Aid, I hear it is good for your sickness.

You think he learned how to block blitzing LBs?

That's how McKnight runs. TJ hit the hole hard every time. LT did that from time to time. Greene does that when he has a chip on his shoulder. Not McKnight. Being fast does not equal explosiveness.

You're right. My bad. McKnight should be given every excuse that he didn't perform well behind the line in games that counted and was needed.

How dare anyone think he's not a super explosive RB.

The thing with RBs is how much time are you going to give them to prove themselves?

Seems like every year there are some rookie RBs making an impact. Some guys coming off practice squads and being major contributors. No position transitions to the NFL easier than the RB position.

The Jets draft one every year now. I would hope they hit on one eventually or this year is the year that one of the RBs on the current roster rises to the occasion.

My point is, despite his success as a returner, he's not performed like he could. He's grossly underachieved as a RB to this point. He was all-hype in college, and the 4th round pick we gave up for him is not worth it as an RB - and is only saved by his special teams play.

Yes, you are very wrong.

He got pushed back into the pocket by Brooks Reed ONCE in a preseason game and some idiot down in South Florida kept repeating that he was constantly getting knocked on his ass getting Sanchez killed. After about 5 weeks of listening to it, I went back and watched all of his snaps to see for myself.

He is rarely called on to pick up the blitz, when he is in, he is usually either running the ball, or leaking out of the backfield to catch a pass on a screen or as a dump-off or in a pattern.

Every other time he was called on to pick up the blitz he effectively blocked or chipped his man.

Believe me, I had this argument with our South Florida poster and I watched every single McKnight snap specifically with an eye on his blitz pick-up capability.

So, with a 4th round pick we got a Pro-Bowl kick returner, a guy who single handedly beat Dallas for us, but because he has not yet fourished as a RB, the pick wasn't worth it?

You're not willing to see what he can do this year? You one of those cut the lazy slob now because he vomited guys?

Really?
