The question who will bail out the states when the crap hits the fan. Unions, States and the Federal Government had better address this or they go the way of California, There are not enough 1% ers to cover this mindfield!

Disagree..when I worked for your group, they still used punch cards. The HEAD of IT made a statement in a meeting that he wanted to stay on punch cards because they had at least 30 punch card operators. Typical government..GROW the government employee workforce to justify the existence. |

Which is good. Do you think Guatemalan day laborers from the Home Depot parking lot would have ran into the WTC towers on 9/11? Nice to see how one day, these guys were heroes....and now they are the downfall of America. |

Verified Metro NYC 9/11 first responders have been treated very poorly. |

I feel that people that put their lives on the line deserve a special place in our system alongside soldiers. It is the salaries of teachers and government beurocrats that bother me. |

Agreed...the salary is not the big issue. It is moreover the tremendous pension plan and how those plans work. Cuomo and Bloomberg have both cited these plans as unsustainable. we have thousands of police and fireman and sanitation workers whose pensions are over 100K tens of thousands whose pensions are over 75K. these men and women are entitled to retire in comfort no question but to retire at 50 and under with a 75K plus pension puts a strain on the system. |

Why is that relevant? My point was that civil wages are NOT below private wages. In fact, far above in almost every category. |
