Does that mean he is gone for sure? I noticed that 8 Brunell, 17 Burress, 7 O'Connell and 30 Strickland all remain unassigned. 21 LT is the only other # that's been reassigned (to Posey.) As a leader alone he will be sorely missed.

Jordan White has 17.. G.J.Kinne has 7..

I will miss LT and Leonhard. I was hoping they both would be back. I thought Leonhard had a better chance but it doesn't look good.

Maybe he is not as far along as they hoped. I think if he were healthy they would want him.

leonard should come back as a defensive coach if not with the jets then some other rex defense type team. i don't think he can play as hard as he used to coming off two incomplete seasons due to injury.

Leonhard was good and will be missed...that SD playoff game a couple years ago he was unreal.

If Leonard is healthy...sign him. Not convinced yet about our new guys. Leonard was good when he was healthy and was the QB/leader of our secondary who knew Rex's system. The guy weighs 150 and throws his body into heavy weight guys on the opposing team.

We have to start building a team and leadership without most of these guys it's a natural progression.

I don't think it's a sign of anything other than they are running out of numbers.

Look at the roster, there are no available numbers between 20 and 50. In fact there are two 34s and two 43s.

It's just a "numbers" game right now.

We HAVE to find a way to bring Leonhard back- he may not be the best in coverage but he's a true leader, which is something the defense is currently lacking.

And, I thought #17 got assigned to Jordan White which is good since some people seem to think that Plaxico or Edwards are coming back.

This Jet team needs 1 guy to step up and assume the role of leader and that is Mark Sanchez.The problem is,he's too busy trying to be everyone's best friend.Furthermore,only certain people can struggle and still assert themself as a leader.

When Mark Sanches realizes this and becomes the leader of the Jets team,then the "Team" will be a team.

I think he has been doing that, aside from Tomlinson. D has it's own leaders. Sanchez will lead both when he has to on the field.

Do u really believe that Sanchez can throw 2 or 3 INTs and still get in say Santonio's face if he has too in the same game.

Getting in someone's face isn't always what a leader does and you don't have to get into a teammates face to be a leader.

Best thing he can do in that situation is to keep his head up, take ownership of his mistakes and keep a positive attitude and let his teammates know he's not going to quit on them so don't quit on me.
