Rondo is overrated

A 44 points game doesn't make you a better player. A point guard who can't even shoot will never be considered to be "great". I'm so sick of the Rondo top-5 pg nonsense.

He's a triple double machine and by far the best player on a final four team. So, no, you're wrong.

How do you get 44 points if you can't even shoot?

Being that he is NEVER mentioned as one of the best I disagree. Rondo hasn't needed to be the best player in the NBA to win. Right now I'd say without him the Celts are a sup .500 team. Rondo is right up there and next year when that team goes younger you will see what he really is. He brings solid leadership to a team which is not easy for a young guy.

By far the best player left in the playoffs? Are you out of your mind? And I thought New England homerism couldn't get any worse...

Manu Ginobili

Allen is not better right now then any of those and Bosh is injured still.

Parker is the best PG in the league. Rondo is a very good player and a top 5 PG.

Lets see, Celtics without Pierce or Garnet, or Celtics without Rondo, even with the corpse like state of the priors. Hmmm

You actually shoot well for once.

Rondo has great vision, is a great passer, can get to the rim, can play defense, can rebound... If he became a good shooter he'd be elite -- his 44 point game is an example of what his game could be like if he did shoot well.

Agreed, and his shooting has improved.

He can also be very inconsistent as well. But what I like is that I think he has even more improving to do. He will be interesting to watch in the next few years regardless whether its in Boston or not. I can see him rising to top 5 or sinking back down depending on who is around him and his maturity level. No doubt, this Celtic team was the perfect opportunity for him to shine.
