tattling doesn't seem to be something that gets tattlers in trouble which leads to more and more tattling and less plain old fashioned ignoring

:D Thanks for the updates.

Good to hear the D's blitzing is showing promise. On the other hand we can typically expect the O to catch up and hold its own more consistently further down the line in TC
That premise only holds up if your job is voluntary. These are voluntary workouts.

Also, when you come back from "vacation" are you at risk of injuring yourself if you jump right in 100%. Tone probably hasnt worked out in a few weeks. He needs to build himself up a little. Get his wind and legs back.

I get your point, but it does not hold up with professional athletes. Their jobs are unique and so are they.

Lets try not to read too much in this.
Says the President of Santonio's fan club. That's some serious spin and excuse making

I would like for you to elaborate on that.

Santonio likely hasn't worked out in weeks if not months. I'm talking being in football shape. For him to jump in 100% on his first day is not smart. That is how players get hurt. We have seen this happen with Revis after his lockout. He needs to work himself into football shape.
What he was saying and what was pretty clear by your first post was that you were going to help JW keep an eye on TX and tattle to JW if TX transgressed.
Yeah, Einstein, I figured that too, but he backpeddaled.

You both still misinterpreted the post.

I make it clear every day I want him gone, jw's post was that he would keep an eye on him, I offered to make the decision for him...

"Backpedaled" is a little strong. I was merely explaining what I meant. One can argue that I expanded which would be the opposite of backpedaling. ;)

I was speaking in general terms. It is my opinion that grown men who tattle or complain to mods are actually worse than the people they rat on or complain about. Now there are obvious exceptions such as racism, sexism, religion, family, etc.

Whether or not you did that I have know way of knowing.

Then he is his typical POS self. Would you ever say that about Revis? Mr. wonderful doesn't have to work out off season cause he so so good, he can catch anything and out run anyone. 'cept when he's doggin' it or has Sanchez to blame. Puhleeeezzz :rolleyes::rolleyes:

The coaching staff didn't agree, they gave him the work they felt he could handle. He pouted and tossed his helmet. Having a meltdown at an OTA session isn't a huge deal, but there's certainly a pattern with the guy. And not a good example to set for all the young players.

You guys are entitled to your opinions. Holmes allowed himself to participate in a bad situation last year and he deserves whatever flack comes his way.

I am going to give Holmes a longer leash than most and I will tell you why. 2009 Jets are a 9-7 team without Santonio. In 2010 Jets are 11-5 with Santonio winning 3 or 4 games practically on his own. In 2011 Jets are 8-8 with Santonio not getting the ball and basically not involved. So my point is the guy is a difference maker for us. Take him off this team and we are going nowhere. After Holmes the Jets have zero veteran presence at the WR position.

This is all much ado about nothing. IMO it is not smart for him to jump in 100% right away. And in Rex's press conference yesterday, I think he approved of Santonio taking himself out. Maybe the exact tweet is in the thread, I am not sure. This would not be news if it were any player not names Santonio Holmes. Plain and simple.

That's fair. And I was reacting to your statement not necessarily to the event. After all, how do we know he didn't throw his helmet because he was pissed at himself for not keeping up or being in better shape?

Do you really have sexism as the number 2 bannable offense on the boards? Maybe you don't know what that is. Now go and fetch me some coffee little lady. Girls shouldn't be posting on a Football website.

I used Revis only as an example to show how guys can get hurt from going all out too quickly. Now the circumstances were different. Revis purposely held out, Holmes is coming in after the off season. Very different circumstances. I do not expect most players to work out for the entire off season. That is the purpose of these OTAs and minicamps, to get the guys back into shape and ready for Training Camp. In Revis' case he intentionally held out of camp and did not get himself into football shape. Football shape is entirely different than being "in shape". The only way to get into football shape is to play football.

I think it is fair to say that Holmes wasn't pissed off at himself. I am one of his biggest supporters but I do not think that was the case. He overreacted to the coaches leaving him in for longer than he wanted. Now someone said something about a limp when he walked off, but they also said that he wasn't injured. So my guess is that he was in for longer than he wanted to be and maybe got stepped on or something benign like that. He got pissed and threw his helmet. No big deal. Happens all the time. I am willing to bet Tebow has thrown his helmet before and has been pissed at his coaches before.

We need to get used to this b.c these guys are going to be under a microscope here. The media is going to blow everything out of proportion. I guarantee you that there are going to be practices where Santonio is yelling at Mark and vice versa. Or Sparano is going to yell at Santonio and they are going to get into it. These things are all normal in a football setting, especially training camp. But once it happens the media is going to have a field day with it.
