Bought $5,000 of DELL in 1995. Sold it right before the bubble to buy a new house. Grew to around 100K.
I invested $4k in AOL before the dot com craze, sat on it watched it split and soar for a while until it was $1mm! ...that would have been a great story if I had held on to the stock, however I sold it after I made about $3k. Needless to say, this is not my wife's favorite story, but is very indicative of my investment prowess lol (I'll be working forever).:O The good news is last weekend I got a $65 beach chair for $40, it had a $29 price tag on it and the store owner was miserable and said he was going to kill the stockboy, I asked why, and he said it was mismarked, so I told him I'd give him $40. He was very appreciative and i got a nice new chair. |
I once bought every chick at an oriental bath house for one hour for a buddy that was getting married...
****er still grins ear to ear whenever someone brings it up. I'll check back in when I go back and do the same for myself. I'm sure it'll feel like an even better purchase...
Sounds like Borgo's ultimate dream. When you see him, tell him to log on and check in every once in a while, will ya?
It's the Hampur... When the hell do we ever stay on point? :dunno:
It's common courtesy in the Hampur to not stay on point. |

Spent $12 buying a chick 3 shots of Jager in a dive bar a few years back.
She's now my wife and the mother of my kid. Solid investment. |

Seems fair. Btw, I did the same thing with Computer Associates when it first came out...bought about 3G's on the advice of my brothers friend who worked there....when it split I thought (listen to this)..... "Hey...now each stock is worth half as much, wtf" Boom sold. - |

I had no idea they would serve margaritas at St Mark's Ale House. I used to frequent that place often, even despite the lingering smell of a popcorn and puke mixture. I'm keeping my dive bar discreet. It's a treasure trove of quality ass-getting. If my wife wakes up some day and realizes she should walk out on me, I want that place to still to be a little-known secret so I can mourn properly. |

St. Mark's Ale House: Home of the Two Beer Hangover. |

My wife and swung by there (as well as Blue & Gold and Lucys) on the 10th Anniversary of when we met, not sure she'll ever step foot again in those establishments. Not surprisingly, I felt right at home. |
