Percy Harvin Requesting a Trade
Breaking news this morning. I bet the Jets go after him. They loved him in the draft. He was the 2nd player on their board but they went with Sanchez instead.
Vikings won't get equal value, but I can see a Kerley + 3rd round offer and see if they bite. |

He would be sweet on the Jets. They tried to trade up to get him but couldn't get it done.

I love Harvin as much as the next guy but as a team that won't throw much not sure we really need him. Holmes and Hill on the outside with Kerley in the slot and Keller at TE should be plenty for Sanchez/Tebow.

Harvin for Keller. LOL, I wish. They don't want a player, they probably want picks. Likely a #2.
Didn't Tanny try to move back up to get him in 2009. He would make an excellent Jet. Holmes, Hill, Kerley, Harvin. Those are some weapons. |

The headaches scare me. Its a chronic problem that seems to cause him to miss games. Id pass if I am the Jets.

It should be noted that the Vikings have tons of money to spend, no WRs, and are loaded at TE. They're not trading him.

I think he's worth the risk if it's the right deal. I'd give up a 2nd for a 24 year old who can further help stretch the field and give Sanchez another weapon. |

I would. But I don't think Kerley is worth anything.
I think just a #2 would do it. But I think we are overlooking his contract situation. Is he demanding a trade b.c he wants to get paid? We don't have a lot of money and have a standoff looming with #24. |

Remember. Trading for Harvin means a trade plus a new contract.

and on top of that, we could structure the contract to take the big hits 2 years from now, which is when we will be able to cut or trade holmes, which will make harvin and hill as our top 2. sign me up! Last edited by Megalomaniac; 06-20-2012 at 10:11 AM. |

I love Harvin. The Vikings hold all the leverage and want to keep him, so that would mean overpaying...and likely needing a nasty holdout to aid the process. Pending a holdout, the starting point would be at least two 2nd round picks just based on recent WR trade history (and then you'd have to give him a contract).
The Jets would have to be in love with him... I'd actually be ok with overpaying to get him, but this is a long shot. In addition to the slot/wr role, I wouldn't be surprised if he played 3rd down rb in our offense (getting deep in the hypothetical here). |

If a two will do it, I say trade for him if he agrees to postponing a new contract at the end of the upcoming football season. At that point (April 2013) Revis may finally become tradeable and then draft a CB in the first round. Spend the Revis money on Harvin, next year.

He's divaish - I'd trade for him but having him and Tone would make me nervous....would our QB and a ground and pound OC get them enough balls ....I could see it getting toxic.

Jets + Revis are infinitely better than the Jets - Revis + Harvin.
Do people think before drooling over a player that is on another roster? |
