Even Rotoworld Knows....

Per Rotoworld:

Darrelle Revis is scheduled to be the Jets' second highest paid defensive back for the 2012 and 2013 seasons.
Antonio Cromartie's 2012 and 2013 scheduled payouts are greater than Revis'. As ESPN New York's Rich Cimini points out, however, the Jets could counter by arguing they paid Revis $25 million in 2011 alone. Revis does have a decent forward-looking argument if he's to hold out, but we don't expect him to. The holdout controversy seems to be a media creation more than anything.

Move along, folks. Move along ;)

Anyone who says Revis has a "good argument" has no clue what they are talking about.

Next year? Sure. But to totally discount what he's received over the past two years is ignorant at best, and most likely agenda-driven . . .

I agree 100%. Revis has no argument this season, but a case can be made for next year.

If Revis holds out it guarantees his contract for 2014 & 2015, he has no leverage. He can bark but that's about it.

It's no different than those idiots saying Sanchez was the highest paid QB last year. Well it's the opposite, but the same principal. Also like people that get paid every 2 weeks trying to collect unemployment every other week.

Revis won't holdout unless he wants to be traded (fact)
Tanny was brilliant in the way he structured the contract. If he sits you already know what happens.
At the end of the day he wanted a boat load of money and he got it in two years.
He will get a new contact, with enormous amounts of money. He deserves it but as for this year he just wants security. but he does not have any argument to make..
The only leg he has to stand on is his talent. That's it

Ask the same people who think Holmes is a cancer & the Jets won't win the SB this season unless they re-sign Braylon and make him the team captain. (-;

Revis is not that kind of player plus that will only hurt his value.

The first time by insisting on a sixth year and then overpaying by $15 million for a contract that turned out only effective for two years anyway.

The second time by caving in and agreeing to redo the first deal for which the Jets had already overpaid massively.

Both times messing up the timing such that predictably the first thing Revis did when he got back into camp was to go get himself injured right away.

Pathetic GM'ing from start to finish right there.

So we got the best defensive player in the league signed both times, and still were able to keep our core players that were all unrestricted free agents at the same time. A feat that everyone said could not be done btw. So that is of course pathetic. We should have just signed him to the vet minimum, and he should have been grateful for the opportunity. I mean that's what I would have done.

Being the best CB in football changes the rules.

And that's coming from someone who doesn't think he's worth the $$ . . .

It would hurt his value if he did it next year, not this year. Any team that signs him knows that the possibility that he will attempt to renegotiate before long.

Tanny has always given in to him, he never had any reason to moan, this time tanny may not, no one knows how Revis will react. We do know that he will show up.
