I just saw Megamind. If Act of Valor is half as good as that, we're in business.

I saw this movie at a studio screening about a month ago.....as ex-military personnel I thought the weaponry and live combat scenes were very realistic and the recon work was excellent. The story line was very good as well but the "acting" was absolutely horrible it was honestly a grind sitting through the scenes where someone wasn't getting shot of blown up.

Good movie too. I just saw 2 Samurai flicks on Netflix download - Twilight Samurai and 13 Assassins Subtitles, no English... but since you have Netflix and can stream - definitely check them out. Twilight Samurai was such a calm and beautifully shot movie. Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 99 rating. Roger Ebert gave 13 Assassins 4.5 stars. It's a good action flick with a truly disturbing villain. |

Lots of Steven King books have been made into pretty good movies.if you haven't seen them try among others Carrie,The Shining,Pet Semetary As far as newer movies go,I thought Warrior was excellent.I liked Moneyball as well, but I'm not sure how non baseball fans would like it |

Just got in from seeing the movie in question. I can only echo what's already been said here. Production-wise, dialogue, acting, sequencing of some scenes leaves some to be desired. The look you get into what these guys do is unparalleled I think. The show of overwhelming force and how they thrive and encourage moments of chaos only to bring order and destruction is unbelievable. If you want an awesome action movie having few expectations, go and see it.
God bless these men and those like them. |

For anyone who hasn't seen Act of Valor, the Navy's SWCC boats scene is a perfect example of how ****ing awesome the U.S. armed forces are. This is why we're the baddest mo-fo's on the planet.
My favorite scene in the movie AND all live fire, fellas. |

This was easily one of the worst movies i have ever seen. Ever. The combat scenes were impressive. Well shot, and well orchestrated... but jesus christ. The package they were delivered in was highschool quality.
Thanks Jstokes... the fact that you liked this, and hate Malick - means everything is right in the universe. |

Btw, Malick is the most overrated director in the history of history. The guy sucks and has ruined every movie he's ever touched. But the faux-intelligenstia still think he's a genius. LOL. _ |

Like i said, hard to argue that choreography wasn't top notch. But whomever they hired to penn that script and direct that film should be out of a job. Talk about trying to leech onto Call of duty followers... anyway. if y'all enjoyed it, then i guess that's what matters. but not this guy. |

No one on the other hand, applauded anything about Act of Valor behind some well shot sequences. I do work in the film industry. This is something of an area I feel OK talking about. But if you're gonna be a dickhead as usual about it - then peace. I'm out. |

Ugh...how's Michael Floyd doing? Cinematicly, it was an awful movie. If you are in the film industry you should just accept that and move on. As far as shedding light on what these cats do, it was unbelievable. These men keep our enemies up at night and are honestly some of the most bad-ssness on the face of the Earth.
