Yea but he worked with Vinny and didn't want to leave, could have put us over the top in 2000, my point was that they took away Vinny's top receiver before his second full season, we'll never know what Vinny could have done during his Jets career

Then Parcells stuck with Mirer for 6 games when everyone on the planet could see how awful he is, finally mercifully pulling him for Ray Lucas (who nearly led us to the playoffs).

Granted, the Jets have had some awful QBs (as the list illustrates), but I have a hard time believing any of them ever played the position worse than Mirer did.
+1000000000000000

I'm relatively young (a lot of guys on that list I've never seen play) but Rick Mirer's stretch in '99 (with a very talented team around him) was one of the worst I've ever seen. Just painfully, disgracefully inept. I remember watching that Monday Night game against the Jaguars and just screaming at my TV.

I have a hard time believing there have been ten Jets QBs worse than he was.

03. Ken O'Brien
02. Chad Pennington
01. Vinny Testeverde
One decision is easy ..... Rick Mirer was easily the worst of the guys on that list. Half the people who throw in the parking lot before games have a better arm than he did. He's so bad he shouldn't even be on the list.

That was awesome, what memories, David Norrie, OMG. I remember paying to see Marty Domres play QB. I think my game ticket was $8.00

How can Foley be ranked behind Clemens, Nagel and Mirer? I might rank him ahead of O'Donnel only because Parcells hated him less.

Vinny gets the nod by this fact alone, imo.
I'd take Obrien over both of them today.

You did not say at what? In football terms I think Vinny was better then all of them since Joe. I think Sanchez will eventually develop into a great one.

I don't know about that, OBrien had some prolific years for us.

I would say after Namath

1 OBrien
2 Chad
3 Todd
4 Vinny
5 Sanchez

This a big year for Mark

Quincy Carter?

I always thought he would be a good player. He had some drug problems. What happened to him?

Drugs and alcohol killed Carter's career, but he was 2-1 subbing in for Chad and his one loss was the famous LaMont Jordan INT toss to Ed Reed. He should have had the job for the rest of the year. Jets probably beat Pittsburgh and Chad's arm doesn't go completely to ****. Ah well.

IMO after Namath:

1. Testaverde
2. Sanchez
3. Pennington
4. Todd
5. O'Brien
6. Favre
7. Ryan
8. Esiason
9. O'Donnell
10. Lucas

Boomer & Favre were better QBs then O'Brien, but this is just Jets career.

EDIT:

No it's not Quincy Carter he's already on the list. That dude had some potential he came close to getting the QB job done even played in a couple games mopping up. Spent two seasons on the roster. then disappeared from the NFL scene.
