2012 Offensive Rookie Studs/Sleepers - Jets Insider.com Forums

Who will play well in 2012? Offensive rookie production is difficult to predict.

Trent Richardson is my #1 to produce this year. The Browns have already focused the offense around him, and with a rookie QB starting (kind of), he's going to gain about 1,200 yards or so this year (some of them force fed, IMO).

A few others are Michael Floyd, David Wilson, and Coby Fleener.

Coby Fleener is my sleeper, and I have him racking up 40-50 receptions for Indianapolis, as he's Luck's favorite (in Stanford he was at least). For a rookie, 50 receptions, about 650 yards and 5 TDs.

Who else can we look forward to having big stats for a rookie?

That thread will tell you, who most posters (who actually talk football) have as their respected offensive rookie of the year contenders. In regards to sleepers? What rounds are we talking, 1-3 or later rounds?

Whoever will produce decent stats. Even UDFA if you think they're going to do something.

Too many to name during the first three rounds, including our very own Stephen Hill. I like Lamar Miller as a 4th round sleeper, running back drafted by the Dolphins out of Miami University. Miami may have Reggie Bush, Steve Slayton and Daniel Thomas ahead of rookie Lamar Miller on the depth chart, but I can picture Miller becoming more of a featured back for Miami at 5'11/212 pounds. Last season, this kid became the first Miami running back since Willis McGahee in 2002 to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season. I believe he'll impact this season.

MY offensive rookie of year is Michael Floyd.

MY sleeper call me a homer is WR Juron Criner 6'3 225 . He brings a different dimension to the Raider wr corp. When you play in a WCO offense you need a Wr thats going to do the dirty work( slants, go over the middle etc that he will excel at) He a big guy who has great hands and knows how to use his body.(clutch possession receiver) He will be a big weapon when they get in the red zone. I expect anytime Raiders get in the red zone he will come in for DHB. I say he has 9 to 10 Td in 2012.

Floyd is a good one. Don't know much about the other kid. Will Palmer stay healthy the entire year to make that prediction possible?

I can't disagree with that list, as two of them would be on my list.

have you seen any recent Earl Campbell news? The guy can barely walk.

Campbell is hurting big time.

He was by-far the most physical RB the NFL has ever seen.

I'd have to say either Emmit Smith or Walter Payton. A prime L.T would make for a strong push too.

I picked Trent Richardson and Dont'a Hightower to win, but some sleepers I like are Coby Fleener, Rueben Randle and Stephen Hill on offense and Janoris Jenkins and Courtney Upshaw on defense.

Emmit Smith was a beneficiary of the great Dallas OLine when he played.

Walter Peyton was probably the best, most elusive RB outside the tackles, couldn't run inside the tackles if his life depended on it.

Mentioning LT in a coversation about the top 3 RB's in the history of the NFL is absurd. He was the softest RB ever to play the game.

No one can predict injuries. I don't think Palmer injury would have any effect ON Criner numbers at all. (might actually make them go up) The other Wr numbers would be more affected by a Palmer injury than Criner. Both Leinart and Pryor , Criner probably there favorite target. He a big target with great hands. They tend to like to use the part of the field where Criner going to excel at.
