Yeah. He went from among the bottom of the league as the 28th ranked QB in his rookie season to a very impressive 23rd in the league last year. Huge improvement. His TDs went up when they finally got rid of 'red light, green light' offense. Great statz those are. Friggin' 23rd in the entire league.

All these Patriot trolls like to harp over the fact that Sanchez turned the ball over 22 times last season, but seem to forget that Brady turned the ball over 16 times during his 3rd year in the league. Brady also fumbled the ball 6 times, 4 of them just so happened to be recovered by NE's offense. It also took Brady until his 5th year in the league before he posted his first QB rating of 90+. But yet, they act as if he developed into a great quarterback "over night".

Do you really think it's only Pats trolls pointing this out? Sanchez' turnover numbers is a major flaw, it was near bottom of the league... pretty much every media outlet you can find will pound you over the head with this fact.

It was 26 turnovers not 22. It's what made him a bottom third QB in the entire league last year. Get a clue. If your going to be statz-boy, get your numbers straight. What a laughable fan are you, you don't even know how many turnovers your own QB had. Sad. Stick to bad rap and wearing a Dolphag jersey, and them biscuits and gravy.

And since you bring everything back to Brady. 16 is 10 less turnovers than 26. Don't you think 10 turnovers per year is a HUGE difference? Don't you??

DWC's so good at cherry-picking stats and misrepresenting them he almost had me convinced a bottom-third QB is going to lead the Jets to something better than a .500 record.

Winning the division?

Gotta love Vinny nailing the stats.

In all the important QB measures, Sanchez is bottom 3rd.

Another top 10 draft pick that that the Jets blew.

Kinda like an on-going cycle.

DFat, Gholston and now Sanchez.

Because a quarterback getting sacked and fumbling on his blind side has a ton of relation to him. Good one.

So Statz is bragging cuz Sanchez only had 10 more turnovers than Brady?

I was excited to be welcomed by a Patriot fan with the most post in the forums history. So thanks. Must be fun to spend all day on a Jets forum.

Regardless, you can point to turnovers all you want. Sure, Sanchez's stats aren't ideal and that's fine. Most Jet fans can acknowledge Sanchez has to get substantially better. But to act like 10 turnovers from fumbles when a team suffered a TON of offensive line problems (Hunter's struggles seriously did impact the entire line, evident by a poor season by Dbrick,) and failed to have many weapons at all because of it, it's just stupid. Evaluating a quarterback's talents by fumbles is pretty stupid and it seems like thats the crutch here. What worries me the most about Sanchez is his accuracy and his consistency... not his fumbling which had a lot to do with a terrible oline.

I know, huh? And he even failed to point out that last year, Sanchez only threw 7 more interceptions and had 1 more fumble than JaMarcus Russell did in his third year.

Wrong.

Sanchez was 15th in passing yards. There are 32 NFL teams, that puts Sanchez above the 50% mark. Not the "bottom 3rd".

Sanchez was top 10 in passing TD's (9th to be exact).

Sanchez combined for 32 offensive TD's. 6th overall.

Sanchez was also forced to work with a useless between the 20's Plaxico as his #2 WR (still looking for offseason work). A washed up 37 year old slot WR in Derrick Mason for the first 5 weeks of the season (Retired due to being completely washed up). A raw 5th rookie rookie in Kerley as his slot WR and offensive line issues/problems during the entire season. Still led an offense that ranked 13th in offensive points scored.

And he committed 26 turnovers (actually 28 according to pro-football reference.com) making him in the bottom third of QBs in the NFL. No matter how you cherry pick the stats, it is what it is. Bottom Third. #23 in the rankings.

Exactly. 5 of his turnovers also took place during a single game against the Baltimore Ravens. 4 fumbles and 1 INT.

Not even Joe Montana had a fighting chance behind that offensive line, not against that Ravens front 7. Mangold was out in replace of a undrafted rookie in Baxter at the Center position. Baxter was so bad where we had to bring in Vlad, Vlad was so bad where we had to bring Baxter back into the game etc, etc. Sanchez was quarterbacking behind a disaster offensive line against Baltimore.

Excuses....excuses.....excuses. SI ranks him as the #8 largest bust for a reason, but you know better 'cuz you have the excuses, and cherry pick stats.

Did you watch the Ravens disaster? Are you saying that Sanchez didn't commit 5 turnovers during the Ravens game? These aren't excuses, these are facts.

He still had 21 more of those turnovers. You can slice, dice, even sautee up those stats, they're still bad, bad, bad. He's still a bottom third QB until proven otherwise.

Fine. Take away 5 turnovers in one game because NONE of them were his fault. They were all somebody else's fault.

So what's your excuses for the OTHER 23 turnovers? Who's fault were those? Shotty must be responsible for half of them easy.
