I watched part of a full show on ESPN the other day where Hugh Douglas said the key to the Jets' playing well is for Tebow to become the starting QB as quickly as possible, so I give his comments no weight whatsoever. New England is the team to beat until our offense proves it can make enough plays to win games.

He might be right but he makes no sense in his explanation.

First he says he loves what the Jets have done in the draft with the new guys.
Then he says he loves the continuity of the Jets opposed to the Bills young players.
Then he says the Jets have only added Tebow.

He's all over the place. He's in love with Tebow and thinks he's the difference? This is the same Tim Tebow that had 5 completions to Brady's 6 touchdowns going into the 4th quarter of the playoff game?

He should just say "I have a feeling" and leave it at that because his explanation makes no sense.

This is true. We have an offense tailored for Tebow but we are going to give sanchez the 1st crack at running it. Makes no sense to me.

We just have to hope we do not make the switch to tebow too late.

The offense that Sparano runs (not the Wildcat) is designed to have the receivers run more intermediate and deep routes to keep the defense honest. It's not designed to run as the norm short passes and check downs to screens and such. Tebow as the starting QB would cripple us.

Chaz Schilens, Santonio Holmes, Stephen Hill, Demarcus Ganaway, Jeremy Kerley, Patrick Turner, Jordan White, Dustin Keller, Jeff Cumberland, Josh Baker and Hayden Smith are glad you are not associated with the Jets.

Exactly. These are the passes tebow struggles with. He throws a great long ball.

I'm not condoning Tebow as the starter or anything, but he actually throws a pretty good deep ball.

Aside from his abilities as a runner, it's probably the strongest point of his game.

Yet we still have Hunter and Brick at tackles, so maybe Sanchez will complete 8 passes above 21 yards, until he gets killed.

Preseason predictions are like rear ends. Everyone has one and most of them stink.

Douglas' prediction is no more or less valid than any other ESPN mediot.

Cocaine is a hell of a drug.

Wild Card? Absolutely. Division Champions? No. Unless he knows something is wrong with Brady that we don't know about.

So his reasoning was Tebow?

Tebow offense lost to Pats 45-10. We have them right where we want them I guess

Jets could very well beat the Patriots off the throne in the AFC East IF the D is ferocious and effective enough to stymie Brady and his receiving corp AND our O can put up quick points and also eat up the clock. ST's will have to be great as usual as well. Jets have certainly drafted well and operated prudently and judiciously in free agency within the constraints of the salary cap.

Hugh's "logic" is half baked and unreasonable
