When you have cuffs put on you...it's game over. Stop acting like a piece of crap and sit there and just accept the fact that your stupid a** got yourself arrested. I've tested cops patience before and got "knocked around" for it.......it was my own damn fault.

Now...I'm not condoning what he did. He should have shown the restraint that he was trained to show. But who's the "POS"? Him or the fat slut who got too drunk at some trash casino? Yeah...it was the guy who HAD a decent job dealing with a**holes and not the ignorant dumba** who was gambling away her kids foodstamps?

I never understood why people have to take sides on everything.

She was wrong to kick the cop and the cop was wrong in how he dealt with it.

Oh please, you drew the conclusions that you wanted to draw out of my posts. I clearly said that he should be sitting on the curb in cuffs right next to her. This obviously implies that I think she deserved to be there herself.

And pretending that that weak little kick put the officer in any kind of danger is laughable. Personally, I don't think it deserved an added charge of assault because it was so tame, but I certainly wouldn't cut her any slack if I were them. I wouldn't kick her in the head either though.

I said it earlier. Take a step back so she can't kick you again. Seems like common sense to me compared to booting her in the back of the head. As far as not cutting her slack, I'm talking about her eventual punishment for breaking the law (which shouldn't include being kicked in the head).

Regarding focusing on the cop's action and not her's, the thread isn't about her. Make a thread about her probable lawsuit and if I see it, I'll go post that I don't think she deserves a dime unless the kick caused her serious injury.

Agreed.

But kicking her in the face and then saying he did it because he "felt threatened" is just total bullsh*t. She deserved to be arrested and she deserved some kind of reaction after kicking him in the leg, but she did not deserve to be kicked in the face.

No. No i'm not. Kicking at the officers leg was stupid. It was wrong. What I'm trying to get across is there is a different between stupid and reprehensible. There are degrees of wrong, and what he did was so many degrees of magnitude worse than what she did, that it makes since to focus on the abject evil action at the expense of condemning the petty and stupid.

This is exactly the reason I've focused on the cops action. PlumberKhan and others seems to think that a women getting arrested and kicking a cop in the leg is as bad or worse than an officer, someone we trust to protect us and diffuse violent situations - hauling off and booting a helpless woman across the face. Apparently if she is poor, fat, drunk and/or gambling it's reasonable for her frustrated, poorly executed, barely effective kick to the leg to be answered by a full blown, pull your leg back and let it fly, kick across her face.

If it helps you sleep better at night Khan, yeah. I believe you should be respectful, and compliant when dealing with a law enforcement officer. I believe you should treat them with respect regardless of whether or not you feel you've done anything wrong, as they have a job to do, which is at times very difficult, and mistakes will be made.

What i should never have to expect, is that law enforcement officers who have failed to show constraint, even at the most basic threshold of human decency, will have even the faintest possibility of keeping continuing to disgrace the shield he wears, and endanger the people he is paid to protect. Cops are people. There are bad, evil, morally destitute cops just there are like there are bad, evil doctors, accountants, and lawyers. That doesn't mean all cops are bad, but when you start fostering a mentality in which Police Officers, or firemen, or soldiers, are given a pass when they perform cruel and horrible acts against the citizens they are supposed to protect and serve, you encourage and justify the sense of mistrust many already feel towards them.

This "man", who kicked a defenseless woman across the face, and disgraced his profession has put police officers in danger more than any legislation about guns proliferation or rights possibly could. The only way to minimize that kind of damage is to prosecute this piece of ****, and others like him to the fullest extent of the law, and make damn sure the public understands this sort of thing is unacceptable.

So yea... i'm focused on the cop. Sorry.

I've heard plenty of tales of Marines committing heinous acts against civilians and prisoners, but never once did it color my respect for Marines in general.

As far as this tape, it was not pleasant to watch. My first thought was the other cops are now witnesses and you see the one poor guy having to testify in the tape...my heart went out to him.

I understand him reacting when struck...its human nature...and she could have swept his leg from underneath him had he not been firmly planted...but to kick the head, while she was handcuffed..ugh.
