I don't think you guys realize that kids drafted in 2010 have just had their first full offseason. Sure McKnight was working out last year but no way was he doing the best thing he could in the offseason. These mini camps can mean a lot to players especially ones coming off a rookie year. I expect him to had a good year. He has the potential, so there's no reason to believe that he can't. The question is will he use that potential. And as Jet fans we should believe our players will live up to that potential. So until he proves me wrong, I will believe he will have a good year.

After he vomitted, he has shown nothing but a fantastic work ethic. Every offseason, the guy brings it. Worked out with LT the whole summer after his rookie year, has been to every Jets West, now Jets East, the guy had a f-up coming into his rookie season-- but to question his work ethic since smacks of something other than intelligence or objectiveness. Something else going on here with the Porn-Stache sportin Bambi Killer. _ |

Look, McKnight is young (like a lot of Jets). Just because you are athletic doesn't mean you pick up the game on Day 1. How many skill guys really make an impact in their first 2 years? There are a few, but really, it's not many.
McKnight, Connor, Powell, etc., we don't know what they are capable of. You can't write a guy off because he wasn't an All Pro in his first two seasons. I think McKnight can be a great 3rd down back. I know we want results now, but it does take time. A lot of people are down on Connor ... well, he's been a starter for 1 year. And I think fullback is a more thinking position than most people believe. T-Rich didn't have all his athletic ability and strength when he was 36-37, but he knew the game. knew the right way to block defenders without killing yourself, picking up the nuances of the game, etc. Connor is learning now. give him a bit, it'll click. |

Somebody needs to check his hee-haw pickup truck below his gun rack to see if there's a confederate flag proudly flying there. Because the hate Porn-Stache has for these two players otherwise makes no sense. _ |

I've given him **** in the past, he's an unbelievable homer, but he's no troll! More Raider homers, less Pats fan trolls. McKnight has all the ability to be an outstanding 3rd down RB and a back-up, pass protection is the biggest factor. I think McKnight is ready for a bigger role, I can easily see him making the jump and being a more mature player. Last edited by Ray Ray19; 07-18-2012 at 09:54 PM. |

I guess you'll have to edit your post and include that after he vomitted, after he failed his conditioning test, after he got over his fumblitis, he's been nothing but a future hall of famer? Oh wait, lets not forget we've now found he's in fact BRITTLE. You're a joke. The guy is a complete bum and you are willing to stroke him until your dying day. Hopefully, that day is coming soon.

Joe McKnight has been very nondescript as a running back for the Jets. Underwhelming is a generous way to put it. Much like his career at USC. Anyone who is saying differently must be watching different games.
The book is not quite closed on him yet because he does have physical gifts, but it is closing pretty fast. He gets this year to show his stuff with the jets and next year perhaps with someone else. Maybe. The chances are better then even IMO that he is out of football altogether in 2-3 years. Full disclosure. I have no Confederate flags. |

How can you sit here and state that McKnight has been "underwhelming" and/or "nondescript" as a running back, when, he's never even had a chance to show his offensive worth/value as an HB. As a rookie during the 2010 season, he only rushed the football 39 times, but guess what? He put up up 189 rushing yards, which just so happens to make for an average of 4.8 yards per carry. Yeah, right, he's been really "underwhelming" and/or "nondescript". Joe McKnight was only given one chance as a rookie (because Greene and L.T were ahead of McKnight on the depth charts) and guess what? McKnight, as a running back, made the most of his first and only chance as a running back (thus far). 32 of his 39 carries came against the Bills during week 17. He only rushed the football 32 times for 158 rushing yards along with an average of 4.9 yards per carry. He also put up two receptions for 15 receiving yards against Buffalo. Last but not least, he only rushed the football 43 times last season. Once again, behind Greene and a future HOF back in Tomlinson. He only rushed for 134 yards due to an average of only 3.1 yards per carry, but lets stop acting like Joe McKnight was given a chance to succeed as a back last season, because when in all actuality... He wasn't. The offensive line was a disaster, which is why Tomlinson could only average 3.7 yards per carry and as a team? We ranked 30th in average yards per rushing attempt. Let's not blame this on Joe McKnight, especially considering the fact that McKnight only accounted for 43 out of 443 offensive rushing attempts. McKnight has only been given one chance as an actual running back over the past two years. That chance came during week 17 against the Buffalo Bills, and he ended up rushing for 189 yards off of 32 rushing attempts (an average of 4.9 yards per carry). On a side note, where is all of this "McKnight can't hold on to the football" garbage coming from? Are you all talking about rookie and 2nd year mistakes during the preseason? Because the last time I've checked, he's rushed the football 82 times and has put up 16 receptions (98 touches) with zero regular season fumbles. Now, on special teams, I believe he's fumbled two times (1 punt and 1 kick off). But, lets not to make this kid out to be a fumbling machine (in regards to a backup RB) when he's never fumbled a hand-off to date. |

You're the only joke around here. Stick to talking about fishing and hunting; discussing football isn't your cup of tea.
Yea, right, he's a "bum" who happened to lead the entire NFL in average yards per kick return. 1,073 return yards off only 34 kick returns; an average of 31.5 yards per return to go along with a 107 yard kickoff return (for a TD). Kid gave our offense great field position time and time again. http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/pl...sPerKickReturn http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/pl...turnTouchdowns http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/pl...ickReturnYards He's actually an outstanding talent; you're just too blind/negative/unhappy to see it. Since we've never had an actual chance to see him as a running back (outside of the Buffalo game) lets go back to only 2009 during his USC days. Lets take a look at what our coaching staff and GM seen, which called for the drafting of Joe McKnight. Kid is a special talent. You create running lanes/holes for McKnight, and he's exploding through them. Once McKnight breaks off into the open field? Good luck, because you're not stopping him. |

You are confusing who has been talking about fumbles and who has not. McKnight hasn't been "great" since high school. Everything we have heard about him since high school plus what we have seen with our own eyes in the first two years is the same thing. Six straight years of "great physical talent. Does not live up to potential". |
