So sorry Borgo. I have been off the board the last few weeks but logged in only to express my deepest feelings for your loss.

Made me kind of blue.

Terribly sorry for your loss Borg. Try and let your family help you through this -
your mother wouldn't want you despondent

Welcome back, very relieved I didn't call you a hook-nosed ba$tard as I almost did.

Welcome back.
Thanks for all the support and friendship. Really appreciate the uplift.

This has been the most challenging two years of my life (and for my wife). Financial problems related to my home (losing so much of its value after the real estate bubble burst, and our inability to sell it), attempting to find a new living situation for my family, then getting blindsided by my Mom's illness and death.

Just the amount of driving involved in all of this was staggering. Going to visit my Mom at her home or hospital was at least a 1.5-2 hour trip each way. Same with the areas in New jersey where we were looking to move. Better days, I guess.

Sorry about your mom. Can't imagine having to go through that.

No worries. Better days are ahead. Keep on trucking.

I'm sorry for your loss, Borg and for the hard times. These things have a way of finding us at the same time, and piling on, it seems.

Thanks, crash. Honestly, I had to cut back a bit, as I was attempting to ameliorate the stress with a tad too much "self medication". Don't think I could be a full out alcoholic, but it might be close. Luckily, I saw that I was starting to abuse it.

Don't cut back too much, wine is good for your arteries.

My Dad always told me, when he was a young doctor they were tasked with doing the autopsies on alcoholic bums they found dead.

Said their artieries were as clean as a new born baby.

Their livers?

Different story.

Long story short, don't neglect your artieries!!

No worries there, JS. I always drink a glass or two of wine with/after dinner. Maybe a few more on the weekends. I had been getting into the 3/4 to full bottle range, which started to scare me a little.
