That said, the guy is absolutely amazing; he'd sing all the Plant vocals while playing the Jimmy Page stuff. I was so depressed seeing how good he was that I hung up my guitar and cried.

I got better.
Randy Jackson is the real deal. I saw them in the late 70s/early 80s. They did a version of "Question" which stopped me in my tracks. (Think I stopped playing for a while, too. ) I swear, it was better than the Moody Blues version.

Check Jackson in this recent video. (Always adored this tune.) He still sounds amazing.

I really like The Blasters' version. Jack White just covered it on his most recent record, Blunderbuss.

First version I remember is by Little Willie John.

Yes he has. I was psyched when I saw the Stones at the Beacon and he came out to do Loving Cup with them.

What did I miss. You said Randy Jackson did a good Robert Plant. I agree, he also played Page style guitar well.

I did a quick edit. I misread your post. Or, it could be the four glasses of wine I just drank. My error.

Love that duet, too (and the entire film). Jack White is my favorite performer out there today.

I was perusing the songs on Blunderbuss earlier. The record is starting to grow on me. So many musical styles crammed into one album. This guy is a phenomenal talent.

LOL. Awesome. Never saw that. They really captured the flavor of the original video.

I think of Mike Campbell, too.

Yeah, Schenker was/is a master at finding new ways around scale patterns. UFO is still one of my favorite bands I saw live.

WCO: Listen to Winwood's guitar tone. Wow.

Also, how does he still sound so great vocally? Another of the geniuses from the 60s-70s performing one of the gems from that era.
