Sorry for the huge image.
For the true Whiskey Master, check out http://www.htfw.com/ for some great standard and some stunningly rare stuff. Like this tasty 38 year old.

Wife is away at a conference in Sea Island, GA and I've been alone with the two little ones all weekend. I've earned this...

Blue Label is just heavenly man. Smooth, elegant, refined notes and gets the job done.
I also like Glenfiddich Single Malt from time to time Last edited by FijiJet; 05-22-2012 at 06:41 PM. |

As Jets season is not far away, it is obviously a good idea to stock up on some strong beverages. So it is.
So I will start with 14 year old Balvenie "Caribbean Cask". Aged in old rum barrels, this stuff is sweet, fruity and smooth as a vagina of 18year old blonde. It taste for me better then much more famous and 3x times pricey 21 old Balvinie. Great, great scotch. Surely a awesome drink after a win, after a loss I would go with some rougher stuff. |

I'll never understand why people spend big money on booze.
Why buy a bottle of scotch for $100+ when I can buy a $30 bottle of Jameson or Makers Mark and accomplish the same thing? |

There is Blended Scotch and then there are single malts. Blended Scotch means a blend of around 15-20 percent Single Malt painstakingly made in small batches and 80-85 percent cheap grain whisky spewed out continuosly from a device called a Coffey Still
Thus you are partly correct in that no blended scotch (J and B. Dewars. Johnny Red or Black... Chivas et al) are worth more than.your 20 buck Makers Mark or Seagrams 7 while pretty much ALL single malts are worth every penny of what they go for Hope this helps Sent from my SGH-T679 using Tapatalk 2 |

Because people who drink more expensive liquor tend to be a bit more mature than looking to get drunk for the sake of getting drunk. For that matter, you can go get yourself a bottle of rotgut or ripple and have at it as well.

Even the most expensive scotch doesn't exactly taste like Coca Cola. You could give me a $30 bottle of Jameson and a $100 bottle of Glenlivet and I wouldn't be able to tell much of a difference. Certainly not enough to warrant plunking down an extra 70 bucks. |

The bad news is that nothing stays the same. Sure; it's ****ed up. and that's why there are $1,000 bottles of scotch Last edited by WestCoastOffensive; 07-22-2012 at 06:23 AM. |
