This is The Man of Steel, a completely different series of comics than regular Superman. Such as, The Amazing Spider Man is a little different than Spiderman, same goes for The Dark Knight and Batman.

How can something look terrible from thirty seconds of footage? You can't even tell what the plot is.

Maybe "looks" is the wrong word.

Going off of the last superman movies, and just an overall distaste/boredom of the genre, I just can't see this being very good.

Surprisingly agree with SAR here. Of course there are exceptions, such as Dark Knight, but generally speaking these movies are for 10 year olds.
