I'm going to be really interested in what this kid can do blocking on a tight set.
Daniel Graham is available as well.

He was a damn good blocking TE.

Agreed on Baker, but can he block? Same with Cumblerland, a lot of upside there, but again, can he block?

Even Hayden Smith has quite a bit of potential.

Maybe the Jets have liked what they've seen in all 3 and have decided not to bring in another player. All interesting to think about and speculate.

One thing is for certain, the pass protection schemes this year will be a big time change for this team, which is why I focused on the TE, the TE plays a big role in Sparano's offenses.

Good to know that DDNY and Jordy have accepted their roles on this board to act like douche bag trolls.

I said nothing to Jordy before he came in and jumped on DDNY's lap.

Might better than anything we have on the roster. Underzised, but he did block.

Out of players on the current roster, Baker is my preference.

I think everyone had said their peace.

We can discuss blocking TEs.

Fasano is definitely more of an upgrade. Graham could be serviceable on the end, but doesn't he have a case of the dropsies?

Right. all the guys on the roster have 'potential'. The reason I single out Baker is the build. He's alow, squat guy (more like a fullback really) If he has some good technique, I can see a guy built like that being really effective getting in a low chip before breaking into the flat. After the block, he's going to have to get open. I think this offense is going to rely heavily on RBs and TEs getting themselves "available" for the checkdown. Gone are the days of force-feeding the ball to a prescribed target.

I don't think Fasano is available or will become available.

Yep, Fasano is a much better receiver.

But for a pure blocking TE, Graham is right up there with the best of them.

Interesting point.

I can see Baker in an H-Back role, to be honest.

Sparano isn't known for using the traditional FB, he likes to use a FB who can come out of the backfield, which is why some have suspected Conner may be a player on the bubble.

I love love love Baker as an H back type.

He has shown in his limited chances that he has really good hands. He could be a great safety valve for Sanchez. He reminds me of that guy the Giants had a few seasons ago...Jim Finn, who always seemed to catch a short dumpoff and convert on 3rd down.

I am really praying that he steps up in camp and we get to see a lot more of him on the field this year.

...which is kinda saying he's an undersized OL. Guy's gotta catch if he's going to be the dual threat that a TE is supposed to be.

It wouldn't surprise me if Conner gets cut. Unless he's got some really good hands (that none of us have ever seen).
