POLL: What Do You Do With Little Pieces of Soap?

When your bar soap gets really small what do you do with the little piece?

I always add the sliv to a new bar. Can't stand trying to wash with the tiny little sliver, they don't fit down the drain and I don't want to get the floor all wet walking it over to the garbage.

I press the new bar into the prickly plastic soap holder making a myriad of little indents, I do the same with the sliver, then I press the two indented sides together facing each other and press firmly--kind of like what Superman does with a piece of coal to turn it into a diamond and viola, one solid bar of soap.

Mind you, I need to conserve my soap because the freaking GENIUSES at Lever decided to stop making Pure Rain, so I bought 48 bars a few months ago off Amazon--they gotta last me.

I'm shocked that "Drop it and hope for back-up" was not an option.

I dont have my contact lenses on in the shower, so if I drop the sliver I cant even find it esp. if it is white. It blends right into the shower floor so I try finding it with my feet.

And you have to rub that little sliver like 100 times just to get some lather from it.

Bar consolidation is my MO as well. Sometimes it doesn't work too well esp. if you are using two different brands, and yes the roughing up of each side is essential, similar to woodworking.

I can't wear contacts, obviously don't use my glasses in the shower, but Lever 2000 is blue, so no problems there.

Btw, does anyone else shave in the shower?

I've been doing it since college--close my eyes and do it by feel.

Such a great shave, use the bar soap as shaving cream.

I think it's terribly inconvenient given how fast it runs out. My kids use body wash and they are constantly running to Walgreens to buy the stuff--store 48 bars of soap in your cabinet and it's always there.

It does but I think it's only like $6 IIRC.

I have shaved in the shower for a long time. I have a mirror in there but I can easily shave without it. But I have a goatee and it helps to see so I can make sure it's even. I prefer shaving cream not soap.

I use it until it slips out of my hand, where I then proceed to grind it into the drain cover, thereby vanquishing it forever.

This is why bars of soap should have pits in them.
