Speaking of Movies Ripe for Remake.....

How has THIS:

Not sniffed a re-make or re-imagining as yet?

Either as another Over-the-Top Action/Charcetr flick, or as a much darker (and rather apt for the current economic crisis) film based closer to the original Stephen King writing?

Speaking of King, how has "The Long Walk" not yet been filmed? It was a better "Hunger Games" well before the Hunger Games was written, and happily (for a King story) isn't supernatural at all so might not suck!

Any word on what happened to the "Red Dawn" Remake?

Red Dawn tentatively set to be released November 21st.

Red Dawn

Running Man would be a great re-make.

I'm waiting for a remake of "The Stand", starring Obama as Randall Flagg/Obama.

I'd give Running Man a go if they remade it...

To answer your question on Red Dawn, it's late this year... Very worried because MGM was going bankrupt while filming it... Maybe that's why they put it off so long

Good call. A remake like the new Total Recall would be great.

Btw, seeing that flick this weekend--can't wait

Wasn't a big fan of him early on in his career--he seemed like too much of a punk.

But since In Bruges, London Boulevard, The Way Back, Cassandra's Dream and his cameo in Horrible Bosses, he's become one of my favorite actors.

Exactly what i thought!!

But correct me, was that under the name Richard Bachman???/ I seem to remember reading that as a short story?

I grew up in the 80's. How bout:

1) weird science
2) the breakfast club
3) top gun

And last but not least: E.T. That would be awesome

Richard Bachman was a Steven King pseudonym.

As great a book as it was, I don't think The Long Walk would work as a film. So much of it occurs internally.

I would like to see Bachman's Rage turned into a flick, though I doubt anyone would ever tackle the issue.

Thing is, it was a GREAT short story by Stephen King (as Bachman). The movie had literally nothing to do with the book

Obviously not.

As such, we movie fans need to "suggest" what films of yore need remake.

So, along with "Running Man", and "The Long Walk", I'd pay GOOD SOLID money to see King's "Christine" done with an actual decent cast of actors (actual actors, not sock puppets like the original) and a full suite of CGI Walking-Dead-Style Effects. Good money, I would pay.

Every film in here involves sweaty men with big muscles.

And not a single mention of Showgirls remake starring Johannson, Biel, Theron, Alba, Beckinsale and Upton.

Bunch of dicks in here? You guys wish.
