I like you so in this particular post I won't give you the ass-raping you so clearly deserve.

At least karen was a ballsy drummer. LOL.
Interesting to reflect that some 40 years or so later one could argue that the music world, a place that in theory should be fairly egalitarian (seeing as it's full of "egaliatatrian music types") is actually a throwback sexist environment where women are limited to a very few roles. Regardless of the musical genre, if you're a woman you're more or less relegated to being either a vocalist , a singer/songwriter, or a tramp in a video.

Rock/rap music today is some of the most sexist, hateful, commercial, non-progressive stuff you can image. The exact opposite of the 60s ideal.

What? Who's talking about women and/or their "place" in society or music?

I was being nice, so here's my opinion so you can understand my intent: I thought/think The Carpenters sucked. Not just Karen, but Richard, their record producer, the putz who signed them so a recording deal, the DJs who played their music, et.al.

Wow. If the thread is about something that doesn't interest you, why not just ignore it like most Hampurites do? I have no clue what set you off. Clearlerly something did. Why make a point of entering the thread just to cast dirt on people with opinions that differ from yours?

Set me off? Like you, I just expressed an opinion. But then you decided to take it beyond the musical realm into the social/political/sexual arena.

Have an awesome weekend. Try the popovers at the buffet table. Make sure you slather them with strawberry butter. I have it delivered daily from Popover Café on Amsterdam Avenue.
