How many empty backfield sets on 3rd and short yardage did Dalton see?

In a TOUGH defensive division, his numbers were not very impressive..... so I don't know what that has to do with anything. Gruden may not be the best OC in football..... but he doesn't try to fit a square peg in a round hole, like Sh*tty was famous for doing. These comparisons are ridiculous.... no one is in the same situation, so there is NO comparison.

Point is take away those tough defensive games and replace them with pathetic defenses like the Pats, Buffalo and Miami and his stats would be even better.
Right now, he unfortunately looks like a better qb vs. Sanchez.

10/02 BUF W * 23-20 18 36 50.0 298 8.3 1 2 2 11 64.4

These are his stats, at home, vs. Buffalo-- the only team that you mentioned, that the Bengals played last year....... still not impressive. Miami also plays pretty good defense, at least against the run.... which, when you look at Dalton's good games, they were directly relative to good rushing games. The Patriots, as bad as I think their D is, don't get abused by rookie QBs..... Belicheat hasn't fallen off, that much.

I actually like Dalton..... but, again, I think the comparisons are ridiculous. Stats are for fantasy football, not for player evaluation.

We can agree to disagree...... I think Sanchez looks like the better QB.

Is there a point being made?

Alot of QB's may have a better QB rating. Some will have worse too.

So?

Here's hoping that GS3 under center, and Coples on the edge works out.

All we can do is hope that it was Schotty, and his over coaching. There's a lot of circumstantial evidence to support this. We will find out soon enough.

I guess there's no point in bringing up Sanchez's meager 30.5 passer rating and 3 lost fumbles against Baltimore last year... or his 0TD 56.4 passer rating game against them the year before.

Did you WATCH those games? Sanchez should be praised for just finishing those games against Baltimore. Ngata's hit, alone, would have had most QBs out of the game..... probably the next week, as well. He was NOT put in any position to succeed, in either of those games.

You hate Sanchez, think he's a bad QB..... fine, I disagree.
