I played a BASS in college (orchestral, not electric)..after graduation, went on to be a CPA and gave up music. along the way, learned some guitar and got pretty good as a second instrument. I'm no guitarist per SE. How is this related to Paul Simon? I'll tell ya.

15 years ago I went to a sought after guitar teacher here in NC. said...hey I'm doin OK and hit a glass ceiling musically. I am struggling with some simple Paul Simon tunes.

he responded...There is NO SUCH THING as a simple Simon tune. Point being...if you try to play Paul Simon, you begin to recognize what a terrific guitar player he is. As a song writer he is outstanding but you never hear about him as a great player. he is.

I have in my so called repertoire the following which I love to play.

The Boxer, Kathy's song , I am a Rock and I used to sing with my children Scarborough Fair.

Its funny...alot of the guys who have posted in this thread are pretty knowledgeable about music and I dont recall them going after your headbanger music with the same sort of venom. Must be a maturity thing.

Learn Scarborough fair..it's fun. kids can sing the 2nd voice. It's in E minor.

You'll enjoy it.

A couple of the lesser known ones that I like are Something So Right, Take Me to the Mardi Gras, and Papa Hobo.

There are so many. I love Kodochrome because I am a photographer and have a Nikon camera. My favorite is "bridge over troubled water". Annie Lennox of the Eurythmics did a live version on some awards show years ago and to this day I cannot find it. It was unbelievable.
