The only way Tanny will fix this situation is to cough up a 2nd or 3rd round pick to some team willing to part with a decent RT.
What team would give up a starting OT at this point in the season? The NFL isnt like baseball or basketball when you can tell who has a realistic shot at being good and who is "rebuilding".

The only possibility for us is that a team has a relatively expensive OT that is getting outplayed by a younger player. You look around the league and there arent many of those situations. Maybe chicago with chris williams, but he also plays guard. Jason Smith was mentioned as a possibility, but I beileve his contract is very difficult to trade. Buffalo actually has 2 good young tackles, competing with a veteran...but will smartly keep all 3.

As you can see, its hard to find starting caliber players right now....austin howard deserves a chance sun night to play 3 quarters with the first unit and lets see what happens.

A team that has considerable oline depth. That team might have a 2nd stringer that's ready to take on a starting role, which could make someone their starter available.

Come to think of it, one team that comes to mind that might be in that position is Detroit. Gosder Cherilius is in a contract year (i believe), he's never been a favorite of Jim Schwartz....and they drafted Reilly Reiff. Cherilius could very well be made available for the right price.

Ummm, if the Jets coaching staff believed in Austin Howard, he would've started over Hunter against the Giants. He has potential, but is still raw and makes mistakes.

Jets need right tackle help. I've been told they haven't inquired about former Jets & Giant Kareem McKenzie as of now. #nyj
