We'd probably have to trade a high profile player or multiple players as compensation and to free up cap space.

The Jets are ALWAYS one of the teams "reportedly" interested in EVERY player that is rumored to be available.

The strength of the Jets is DL and CB so I'd think they'd want to include one of those guys. I think DeVito is on the last year of his contract. Maybe Wilson instead. I wouldn't want to lose either of those guys but you have to give if you want to get.
Draft picks also since that's Tanny's MO. |

what did he give the Panthers for Jenkins? A 3rd and a 5th (and I think the Jets got one back) what did he give the Browns for Braylon? Chansi Stuckey and Jason Trunsnick (maybe a couple of picks too) Anything is possible. |

I guess I could be talked into a conditional 3rd, that could become a 2nd, but that's about it.

If the Jets signed MJD, who would the best player on the Jets offense be? Does anyone come close to him?
Last year he had 1600 yards and 43 receptions. |

Quite aside from just buying a 'name' - he'd be a good fit for the Jets and Mark Sanchez. Part of the 'problem' with the Jets running game isn't a lack of holes to run through - it's that Greene rarely makes much out of the opportunities. I respect Greene and want to see him play, but he was ranked 30th in the NFL last year in terms of yards-after-first-contact. Assuming that that stat is legit, he only averaged 2.2 IIRC. MJD has been near the top of that tally. |

i don't see how this happens. MJD wants a huge contract. The Jets are in no position to give him one, nor should they considering MJD's quickly heading toward the downward side of his career.

The Jets are not interested in Maurice Jones-Drew for all of you amateur GMs. #nyj ![]() ![]()

I posted this earlier...
Arguments answered: Does he have "enough tread left on the tires": My response to this is, he has much more left than LaDanian had when he came to the Jets. He's a major improvement over LT and if you thought coaches have to gameplan around Tebow... Jets have nothing to trade: What did the Jets trade to move up 12 spots to get Mark Sanchez? Brett Ratliff, Abram Elam and ???? You never know what a team will take. Jets gave up a 5th rounder for Santonio. A 3rd and a 5th for Jenkins. Tannenbaum has actually done well with these types of moves. What's the point in getting a RB if the OL can't create holes: This is not just a RB, it's a top 5 RB in the league. That's what makes him special. He finds holes. I honestly don't know the answer to this but how many JAGS o-lineman went to the probowl in the last couple of years? BUT HERE'S ONE MORE Jets don't have the money to do this. Everyone is complaining that Tanny is a bean counter and can't really evaluate football players. This is his bread and butter. No evaluation necessary. |
