Not gonna happen though...we can't pay the little guy.
trading Cromartie to Jacksonville would free up enough cash

Wilson becomes the #2

Except...we didn't have a good back-up plan in the event he got injured, which of course is his MO. In that sense, it WAS a huge mistake IMO.

I don't think we have the luxury of trading our #2 CB and our #2 WR for MJD

Says that Schilens' dead money is $500K if he's cut. Makes sense since that guaranteed $500K of his salary.

^what he said.

Plus, what Jason said:
Quote:
Asomugha shuts players down by simply being a blanket in coverage or being respected as a player you don’t throw on. His actual performance when thrown on was just average. That of course brings up the question about what happens when an Asomugha simply prevents a target rather than preventing a catch?* The answer exposes one of the fallacies about valuing the shutdown corner as so important to the success of a team.* There are 10 other players on a team, two of whom are likely in coverage against wide receivers, and two of whom that are trying to lock down a tight end or a running back. All Asomugha is doing is filtering the target from option A to B. So we need to adjust for that since paying Asomugha $12 million a season does no good if he is playing alongside an average or worse NFL.

This is the reason why Asomugha was such a failure on the Raiders. It does no good to have a grade A cover corner with average and below average players elsewhere on the field. It just leads to the 2 and 3 targets putting up the good fantasy game of the season while the owners of the grade A get upset that their player had a bad week. This is why the weaknesses on the Jets at cover safety and linebacker was so glaring to the fanbase. Teams avoid Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie, not to the extent of Asomugha, which leads to big plays for those alternative weapons on the field.*
In all honesty, I think we'll be fine on O as long as we get the RT issue resolved. I don't care for MJD at this point in his career, I just want to badly to be rid of Tebow.

We whine on one hand for no WR depth and then whine at a signing a guy for that spot? Plus given our cap number and the NFL not raising the cap ceiling, how many options were there. And we still aren't certain that he wont contribute as of now. No matter how slim the chances look today

You just never really get it.

Wilson is enjoying his annual re-branding in the sports media as a viable replacement alternative to Cromartie. I would be surprised if he has the goods to be a #2 based on his body of work to this point. I hope he proves me wrong.

The mistake was thinking that Schilens would ever stay healthy. God help the Jets if Holmes can not stay on the field.
This guy gets it.

Patrick Turner left field in the middle of practice, said his right ankle got "rolled up on," but said he should be OK to practice on Thurs
So who's healthy?

Has that translated to the games so far?

Turtling under pressure instead of feeling the pressure and then moving to escape the pressure does not look like a confident and composed QB to me.

Exactly. I think Tannenbaum should guarantee Hunter's 2013 salary now. Why wait?

Well before I suggested we have a bake sale too, but as someone pointed out your giving away the cookies so looks like that avenue is closed

Actually, I asked that someone else give Mehta a cookie.

Right now, I'm waiting for my Mongolian pork chops ala Stokes to finish marinating.

Hearing #Jets doing due diligence investigating MJD situation, but not likely they will acutally pursue it very far. Bigger fish to fry

Ummmm we had turner (yes jag), brought in Riley, drafted Hill and White, among other youngsters we have in camp. I'm not so sure there wasn't a "good backup plan". Kerley and Holmes have some familiarity with Sanchez as does Turner and Keller. It seems pretty obvious to me that they wanted a tall, fast WR, brought in a few, drafted one, just to see who rises to the top. You're talking about a back up plan for training camp fodder that can help the team if they make it.
