Speaking of Pumpkin ales, I'm brewing mine as I type this.

This beer is a major pain in the arse to brew, but I love how that hot break resembles pumpkin pie.

Well, on 8/2 I went to S. CA for a mtg.
Went here looking for Pliny:

Dint have it , but the beer dude suggested I try this: (had it w/ a Inn-N-Out Burger)

If ever there was a Pesto flavored beer - this would be it.

So 2 days ago I treated myself to a delightful lunch at the Bernards Inn.

Oddly, they do not have beers on tap but featured this on the menu(mentioned much earlier in this thread)

I didnt like it too much but finished it. Maybe too much for :
ATLANTIC SALMON
red quinoa, pickled cherry tomatoes, corn, garlic scapes, parsley & pine nut salsa verde

I recently went to a restaurant named, appropriately, Cider House and had a sampler of ciders on tap. One of them was Crispin.

I could get used to them.

So I went to the Yard House at the Palisade Mall last night. Took forever to get a table so hit the bar. What a delightful selection of a ton of beers. Had the following last night.

Ommegang Witte- Belgian style was very soft and smooth. Pretty much what I drank the whole night

Breckenridge Vanilla Porter- Had this for desert. Again, smooth. Lighter than Guinness and more flavorful.

Captain Lawrence Liquid Gold- Washed everything down with this Yeasty, spicy with a nice, very discreet hint of hops.

There selections are unbelievable. Check them out

IMO, Three Floyds is a Top 5 brewery. They don't have the big hitters (Dreadnaught and Zombie Dust) but I'd like to try that one offering.

There are a ton of them I'd like to try. There's so many that seem great. The one I want to try the most is the rabid rabbit.

Try Shipyard's other/much better Pumpkin beer.

Though if you are just getting into Pumpkin beers you probably want to work york way up and try one of these fist. Wolaver's Pumpkin, Southampton Pumking, or Smuttynose Pumpkin. Shipyard Pumkinhead is a probably the least "Pumking'ny" beer I know of.

My favorite pumpkin beer is Southern Tier's Pumking. It's pumpkin pie in a bottle.
