The terrifying incident occurred at Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri, a day before the annual Lake of the Ozarks Shootout, the largest unsanctioned race in the United States. The family of seven people, two bikini-clad women and five others, were being filmed speeding along in a Fountain powerboat by the Lake TV crew, when the boat struck the wake of another vessel.
As the boat violently begins to rock from side-to-side, the family (including the boat operator) desperately try to hold on, but the force of the impact is so strong it sends the passengers hurtling to the ground. The driver of the boat (believed to be the father), is flung across the deck like a rag doll crashing into the opposite side of the vessel. After losing their grip, two females immediately follow him, and one (presumed to be his daughter), is seen hitting the boat face first.
At the rear of the vessel, a whiplashed male barely manages to keep his seat as the remaining three passengers are career back and forth, finally landing in a body heap at his feet. The entire incident which occurred at the 22 mile mark, cause injuries to all seven family members said Lake TV. Five of them were treated at a nearby hospital for minor to moderate wounds.
