Pats have done a nice job phucking over one of their better players over the years

WHat a pathetic franchise of liars and cheaters they have in that rathole to the north

Unlike the Jets, the Pats do not pay players for past performance.

It would have been totally stupid to give Welker a 3-year contract extension.

If I'm Welker, I don't go the extra mile this year, take it easy...coast to the $9 mill payday, and stay healthy

Pats show no loyalty to a good soldier. Stay healthy and move on next year

Why would Welker want to tank it this year? He's playing for his last big contract before he retires, and if he has another good year, he'll probably get that from some team out there. It just won't be the Pats.

And exactly how does "loyalty" win games in 2012 and beyond?

Losing teams in the NFL reward loyalty, winning teams know exactly when to get rid of players. The Steelers unloading Holmes is a perfect example.

I think the Steelers unloading Santonio was perfect in so many ways

Yea, they significantly upgraded their wide receivers.
