Who was the best Jets linebacking trio

Just going back looking at different Jet teams. Who do you think was the best linebacking trio the Jet ever had and in what year ?

I'll take Atkinson, Baker and Grantham. 1968. Very underrated but a solid trio.

Blinka, Buttle and Mehl were overshadowed by the Giants LB crew, but were a pretty effective trio.

One of my favorite Jet players of any era. (Great choice on the LBing trio.)

Mehl was the man. An I can't think of a better name for a linebacker than "Stan Blinka".

Blinka was a nasty mother frucker!! One of my all time favorites.

I remember him getting suspended once for closelining a RB. It was like the RB got hit in the throat by a tree branch..

Bob Martin, who played sta that time, was a very underrated LB too.

Also, a great trio was jones, lewis, and clifton

Mehl had two picks in a playoff on the road vs Raiders, one to seal the deal.
Guy was always where he was supposed to be.

Marvin Jones never lived up to his full expectations. I think the Lance Mehl years were the best.

I think Mo was gone once Barton signed ..... almost positive Jones was gone by then too.

I liked Barton and Vilma.......I believe Hobson and Cowhert (sp? ) were the others with them.

Mo Lewis, Bryan Cox, Marvin Jones... I believe they all played together in 98, don't feel like spending the time to look it up.

Never saw Mehl, but can't imagine he was much better than Mo in his prime. Cox as obnoxious as a Phin, but great as a Jet. Marvin coulda been so much more if he was healthier.

oops, looks like hollywood gave the goods.

I thought the tandum of Mehl, Blinka and Buttle were an instictive trio.... they were sold playmakers...

the Parcell's era of a 3-4lb crew were very solid group as well..

Mehl and Mo Lewis were 2 best LB's Jets drafted...

Marvin Jones and Greg Buttle were next in line...

Absolutely! Al Atkinson ( MLB)was very underrated. If he played on an old time NFL team he would have received much more noteriety! Ralph Baker? That man was a rock! Always there and ready to pound someone. A great OLB on the left side.

Larry Grantham was too small the experts said! Larry said screw that ! He was as good as they come as an OLB. His heart was as big as Shea Stadium!

I remember that hit. Awesome! I was hoping that the Jets were going to become an intimidating D. Also, it was a while ago, but I thought it was a Green Bay WR named Jefferson and not a RB.

Like I said, It was a few decades ago. My memory could be wrong on who, but I will never forget that clothes line hit by Blinka.

Marvin Jones was FLASHING BIG TIME early!
Oh my God, he would have been unbelievable had he not been injured so bad.
I remember when he got hurt, man did that suck!
Had to have all kinds of regenerative stuff done to his hip, similar to what ended Bo Jacksons football career.

Did they play at the same time? If so, that is the best trio for sure.
