Jets have waived CB Ryan Steed.

Young Jets DBs bracing to get a lot of work vs. Phi. They expect only 5 of them to play: Posey, Fletcher, Allen, D. Lynn and Trufant.

TJ Conley not worried about addition of punter. Says he's been through competition before.

Jason Smith, on the trade, says "beauty is in the eye of the beholder -- and someone thought I was beautiful."

Jets players doing off-site leadership training before preseason finale

The coaches did a similar training earlier this offseason, to promote unity on the staff.

Most of Jets starters are not at practice. They are doing a leadership training off-site in Bedminster with military special forces.

Among the first-teamers who could play Thurs: Conner, Howard, Coples. Rex not sure if Hill will play.

Rex says a benefit in trade for them was getting a tackle (Smith) about 5 yrs younger, a bit more athletic.

Rex is hoping to get 10 plays out of Jason Smith vs Philly Thurs night. Not sure if that's possible
