I land at PHL tomorrow afternoon, then driving to NJ and seeing the Jets on Sunday. Back to PHL for a work conference Monday through Thursday.

Pat's.

1 comp day for working Labor day -- and being on the road for 5 days? Fock that! I'm going to be in Chicago from Monday through Wednesday, and I'm not going back to the office til the following Monday. That road time is working 72 hours straight by my math.

You gotta negotiate harder, woman.

Tommy Danics in Reading Market...there is no close second. Roast pork with Brocolli raab..... The line is always 30 people deep for a reason.

The Philadelphia airport is not great, although there are certainly worse. Flying in and out of Philly is bad (Southwest just dropped it) because their limited runways and frequent weather issues (mostly thunderstorms and fog) lead to a lot of delays and backups.

RE Pats v Geno's...that's a tourist's/out of towner's debate. I grew up in Philly and have never been to either. So I have no idea if they're any good but my guess is they both fairly suck compared to alternatives. Prolly use ****ty rolls and cheeze wiz for the cheese. Like any food in any city anywhere, there are always neighborhood joints that do it way better.

It is pretty tourist trappy. I don't know how authentic or original this is, but my favorite "philly" is roast pork, provolone, and broccoli raab on a hero.

That place was on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.

Would like to try it, but I hate brocolli rabe.
