Jets vs Dolphins - Who's going?

Who's going down for the game? I'm booked and looking for a tailgate to stop by before the game.

thanks for suggestions.

I live down here in Florida. I am going to the game and looking to tailgate with some jet fans. Anyone know where there will be a jet tailgate I can pay to get in?

I was there for the last Jets game in January. The Miami stadium is just the worst ! Even that late in the year we just roasted in the sun. The stadium was only partially full. Crowd didn't seem to care at all about the play on the field. What a let-down.

South Beach for New Year's Eve was great though !

Locals know one key to going to a Dolphins game - ESPECIALLY in September or October, and esp for 1PM game:

At all costs try to get a seat on the "Shady Side".

Sit in the Sunny Side and you will get roasted unmercifully. By the end of the first quarter, half the people will be inside the tunnels etc, hanging out at bars and watching the game on TVs. That is how bad it gets.

This is a different kind of sun than the one you are used to in NY.

You can see how this even affects ticket prices, check for example Stubhub.

Look at low-row seats in 411 to 417 (upper deck sideline SUNNY) .vs. 439 to 445 (upper deck sideline SHADY).

http://www.stubhub.com/miami-dolphin...adium-4076040/

Wear light clothes, bring sunblock and plenty of it.

The South Florida Jets Fan Club has a package deal that includes:
  • 1 game ticket
  • Bus Ride into and out of stadium departing from Duffy's Grill and Bar in Plantation, Fl
  • Entrance to Duffy's sponsored tailgate with free food and drinks, there is also a cash bar
$135.00 for Lower level - Section 126
$89.00 for upper - I think section 426 (might need to check that)

We have 73 people with tickets purchased so far and this Friday is last day to put in your order! **Out of the 73, only 15 are sitting upper**
We make no money on this. Package being sold at price given to us by Fins organization.

Duffy's is a Dolphins sponsored bar that approached us on this package because they couldn't get enough fin fans to fill up the buses. Last year we filled up 3 buses with JETS fans, chanting all the way down to the stadium. It was priceless!

Go to our website to place your order if interested!

is row 7 too low?
at some stadiums, you cant really see in the first 10 rows of field level because of the players standing in front of you...

Transportation to and from the stadium is a big deal for those out of town since all the locals just drive. There aren't trains in Miami like all of us NY'ers are so used to taking to the game ! The stadium is far from the tourist destinations and ends up being an expensive cab ride. I probably spent as much on the cabs from\to South Beach as I did for the tickets. I'm sure there is local city bus service but I didn't have time to investigate it.

FWIW, Car rentals in Florida are notoriously cheap - especially compared with NYC area.

And especially, now which is the dead season.

Yes I know there may be reasons you do NOT want to get a car... but if price is one of them, take another look.

I use Hotwire a lot. I usually search the rental companies first and then check HW for a better deal.

it's looking like the game will be blacked out on local tv (even if you have sunday ticket in the area).

now i'm gonna have to sweat my ass off. The last time i went to a september game at 1pm testaverde was qb. i'd much rather freeze at metlife in december than sweat at sunlife in september.

none the less, we'll know tomorrow at noon. So if it is blacked out, I will see you all there!

Looks like weather for Miami game will be fairly typical for South Florida in mid-September.

Hot (around 90)... Extremely humid...

And good chance of crazy heavy thunderstorms coming through at any moment (or not), although typically mid-late afternoon.

So dress light... bring sunblock or you'll be toast by halftime (even if it's cloudy)...

And if you like, be prepared for super heavy rain during or after the game (even if it's clear blue skies during the tailgate). Maybe a small foldup poncho or a large black garbage bag.

Or rough it and get soaked. Doesn't matter to me. Just sayin.

I'd be completely shocked if the local CBS affiliate let this Miami / Jets game be blacked out.

That would make no sense at all, with all the NY'ers down here in "the 6th borough".

Not to mention the whole Tebow / Florida thing.

I bet they buy up the needed amount of tix.
