Obama Snubs Netanyahu...Again

3 fundraisers a day on average for more then a year, hundreds of hours logged on the Golf course etc, yet Barry can't find an hour in his schedule to meet with the prime Minister of one of our closest allies to discuss issues surrounding (Iran)the worlds greatest threat?

Bam snubs Bibi: Won't meet with Netanyahu this month

WASHINGTON — The already-frosty relations between President Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu turned to solid ice yesterday when the White House nixed Bibi’s request for a face-to-face meeting at the UN General Assembly later this month.
Netanyahu had sought the parlay as the two nations grapple over the looming threat of a nuclear-armed Iran, Israeli officials said yesterday.
After news of the snub sparked outrage, Obama, in an apparent effort at damage control, placed an hourlong call to Netanyahu last night to discuss Iran.
Earlier in the day, Netanyahu had made a blistering attack on US policy on Iran.

“The world tells Israel, ‘Wait, there’s still time.’ And I say, ‘Wait for what? Wait until when?’ ” he said.
“Those in the international community who refuse to put red lines before Iran don’t have a moral right to place a red light before Israel.”
The White House insisted those tough words didn’t spark the initial cold shoulder.
“The president arrives in New York for the UN on Monday, Sept. 24 and departs on Tuesday, Sept. 25. The prime minister doesn’t arrive in New York until later in the week,” said Tommy Vietor, a White House spokesman.
“They’re simply not in the city at the same time. But the president and PM are in frequent contact and the PM will meet with other senior officials, including Secretary [Hillary Rodham] Clinton, during his visit.”
Israeli officials indicated that Netanyahu was willing to travel to Washington for a meeting. But Vietor last night denied that such a request was ever made, or rejected by the White House.
There have been signs of a split between the nations over what to do about Tehran’s uranium-enrichment program. Israel has hinted at taking military action, fearful that a delay would let Iran develop a nuclear weapon — while reminding the world that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said he’d like to see Israel wiped off the map. But the Obama administration seeks more time for tougher sanctions to work.
“This has got to be one of the most dysfunctional relationships in the history of the US and Israeli relationship,” Aaron David Miller, who has advised five presidents on Israel and other Middle East issues, told The Post.
“I find it extraordinary in the extreme that both an Israeli prime minister and an American president would not see one another at this moment,” he continued. “Number One, the whole discussion of red lines, assurances and what to do about Iran requires a long conversation between these two.
“Even if they don’t have it, they need to appear to be in sync.”
The rejection of a meeting with Netanyahu could play out on the US political stage in November. Obama has sought to downplay a chilly relationship with the Israeli leader and concerns among Jewish voters that his administration doesn’t have Jerusalem’s back.
Obama and Netanyahu clashed in the spring of 2011 after the president called for negotiations over Israeli boundaries “based on 1967 lines with mutually agreed swaps.”
Netanyahu lectured Obama in an Oval Office photo-op following one of their nine meetings together, calling those lines “indefensible.”
There is talk in Israel that Netanyahu might launch a strike against Iran before the election because Obama would be pressured to go along. Either Obama or Mitt Romney could try to put the brakes on an attack after November.

I believe he had a scheduling conflict on the day of the meeting. Apparently he had already agreed to an interview with Rocky and the Bull on the Hot 103.7 morning Zoo radio show. They were going to discuss the Nikki Minaj controversy.

Was being dicsussed on MSNBC this morning (Morning Joe) where they all basicly agreed that Iran should be allowed to have the bomb, because iran is run by sane people who will not use it (unless provoked, of course, the definition of whcih is as fluid and political as "fairness") and that Netan. is basicly big liar who lies abotu everything and is a warmonger.

Said there is no cicrumstance Obama will support an Israeli action, nor should we. hesitated for a minute when asked who was a worse actor on the World Stage, Iran's supreme leader or Netan. After a full minute, he stuttered that he wouldn't say Netan was, but counched it heavily and then derided the questioner for asking teh question rather than really answer it.

So.

Good, Im glad he didnt meet Bibi. I dont understand why the Right wing sucks up to this douchebag so much. The guy is unpopular in his own country. He is an a$$hole. This is clearly a political stung on his part. He is dying to have Romney win because Romney is a stooge who will do anything the Likud wants him to do.

Memo to Netanyahu: Our economy stinks and fixing it is America's first priority, we can not afford any more US Dollars or US blood on a third war that makes absolutely no sense for the US to start. The stupid wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have cost us enough in terms of money and lives. You egged on the previous administration to attack Iraq claiming it was necessary b/c Saddam posed an imminent threat. It was not necessary and he was a threat only to Iran. If you feel that threatened by Iran, the US taxpayers have done a very good job subsidizing your elite, world class military. You have enough fire power (including Nuclear Capabilities)to wipe out the entire Mid East. Please feel free to spend your own shekels and spill your own citizens' blood to do what you believe is necessary to defend your people. The USA has already done more than enough. Good luck and good bye.

Short of a full scale invasion, what can be done to stop them?

No thanks to another war. The entire premise that it's our responsibility to "allow" or "disallow" them is based on a global empire, world police, anti-libertarian viewpoint.

Furthermore, all of that waste has allowed China to advance on other regions of the world. The Likud make it seem as though they are the only voice of Israel

Is Bibi contributing any money to the Democratic campaign? Why else would Obama give him the time of day right now?

Good.

Maybe Jews can pray to their god to get rid of Obama.

But he won't show up, because there is no such thing as a Jewish god. God doesn't exist. Keep killing yourselves over pieces of desert, morons

Netanyahu is a poser; I was involved with transporting his entourage from the private jets at SFO down to Seibel systems; he had a book that he was handing out, signing to all the security heavies (I was a driver back then - 2004?)...he made quite a spectacle. THe ride down from the airport was amazing, like a James Cameron movie we were flying in formation at 75 miles an hour. THis was in the days of Orange Alerts. It seemed like silly overkill.

HOWEVER: With the rhetoric out of Iran...how do you downplay that?

However - no more wars please.

Since when did/does the constitution matter? It did not matter to the (R)s when they had control of the government and it does not matter now. The only thing that changes are the sheeple who parrot the need for protecting the constitution depending on whether 'their' party is in power.

EX: I am for protecting the constitution when it comes to Obamacare.
I don't speak up about protecting the constitution when it comes to the "patriot" act.

So now we care about the Constitution and over reach by the president.

Goodie good.

But where were these voices from the right from 00'-08'?

Its just like the liberals who were against the patriot act and more military actions during the Bush years and yet are now silent.

I am a progressive liberal but both parties are a disgrace and so are their lackies that vote.

"Who are the bigger fools; the fools or the fools that follow them"?????

Yes, you are correct. People play politics like its a team sport. Bush and Obama are basically running the same policy. A punch to the left eye, or the right eye, results in a black eye regardless.

Netanyahu wants to preemptively strike Iran.

We don't.

But who knows, after the election, whoever wins might they think they have the political capital/political security to start a war with Iran. I for one hope that is not that case.
