Went sailing last night, beforehand I stopped at the Biergarte...I mean the Bar where they sell a lot of draught beer, a couple of the other taps pictured below. I just had the Torpedo IPA. Yeah, we can't have the Hampur Union here.

Fund a new biergarten in Bethel CT. Great time, outdoorsy, just started their Oktoberfest. Can't have the Hampur Union there, they only had 4 beers on tap--Spaten Oktoberfest, Radelberger Pilsner, HB Dunkel and a Heffe Weisen.

Had a great wurst platter and some chicken, pretzels, etc.

Not sure why this pic is coming up sideways.

I grew up in Bethel. Great town to grow up in. Rarely up there these days. Been to the Oktoberfest there many years ago.

How the hell did you find an Oktoberfest in Bethel?

Forget it. I want Stokes' life. Is that guy ever not doing something cool/amazing?

BTW, JS, that Pilsner looks phenomenal. Also, I see HB in my beer store, but have never tried it. Opinion of the brew?

Somebody scheduled a lunch up there for today, then cancelled it, and me and some of my cohorts said "f*ck it, we're going anyway."

Delicious. Actually, the Pilsner was a Radeberger. I bought the mug, which I usually just fat finger. But there was nobody there so I couldn' swipe it.

I tasted all the HBs, they are great beers--all they serve at the Hofbrauhaus biergarten in Munich--fat fingered THAT mug and it weighed about 2 pounds.

We have the Oktoberfest for the Hampur!

Fredericksburg, TX, is the home to many German immigrants who settled in the area around the Civil War. They have a huge Oktoberfest with lots of hampur-like activities.

"Oompah at its best!"

OkTubaFest -- jamming for all tuba players

Chicken Dance on Main Street -- youtube would be priceless (not for Timmay)

Plus, beer . . .
