I picked up Powell in fantasy hoping the OC would realize what most of the posters already know.

Watch any other team with their running backs. Guys who "pop" into the hole. Then watch our guy. No extra gear, no chance of breaking a run, no chance of getting anything that isn't there. Just run straight ahead and run into someone. Not over someone, just into them.

why are we always horrible? Why is it always so difficult for us to try new things.

And look at the difference in our cross-town rivals... Wilson in the doghouse, Bradshaw gets hurt, they plug in Brown and he runs wild (13 for 71, long of 23 with a TD).... makes me sick
Same thing happened in 2007 during their SB run... one guy got hurt, they plugged in another and no difference... Either they draft much better RB depth or maybe the key is the OL |

5.5 ypc vs 3 ypc is a significant difference... and Brown did rip off a 20 yard run. I watched both games is there is no comparison to the way Brown and Powell ran... with that said I would take EITHER over Greene, which is a sad statement.. arguably their #3 better than our #1

I think we would be pretty hard pressed to find a worse 1,2 and 3 running back corps in the entire NFL.
Just sad really. |

This is a silly thread. Greene is our most physical runner and critical to our ball control offense. After he came out of the game in the 2nd quarter we weren't able to move the pile after moving them off the ball nicely the entire 1st quarter. In the second half we we're playing from behind and they mugged our receivers at the LOS and moved them off their routes/timing. They played physical defense. We are not yet an offense that can play from behind.

You can find 10 or more teams with 2 RBs better than anyone on our roster... for example...
Houston: Foster/Tate Carolina: Stewart/Williams Buffalo: Jackson/Spiller Chicago: Forte/Bush KC: Charles/Hillis Jacksonville: Jones-Drew/Jennings Minnesota: Peterson/Gerhart New Orleans: Ingram/Thomas/Sproles Pittsburgh: Redman/Mendenhall San Fran: Gore/Hunter Could also argue... St Louis: Jackson/Richardson Washington: Morris/Helu Giants: Bradshaw/Brown and there are likely others where we just don't see enough of the #2 |

After watching the fins game yesterday, Lamar Miller looked really good. Hes super fast and quick to the hole. And, he was still around in the 4th round of this years draft.
Miller and greene would have been a real nice tandem. Thunder and Lightning. |

If his name had been anything other than Tebow, fans would have been pulling their hair out about why the guy who had 1 carry for 20 yards didn't get any more carries. |

We're better off with Powell starting. Greene is a one dimensional runner and cannot cut. Atleast Powell can run around the edges and cut in and out of blocks.

Also he cannot block worth a damn and he cannot catch out of the backfield. He is also slow and has no real change of direction. He is a straight ahead runner to gets himself dinged up every game. Literally every game. He is also the best runner we have on the team which is a sad commentary on the other two. |

greene is a 1 dimensional rb. opposing defenses like pittsburgh know this and game plan for it. big deal we beat buffalo this offense needs alot of work.
