Do you think Rex Ryan will learn from it?

Rex could (should) have:

1) Stayed poised and coached the player, who got beat on the line, during the TO, so it doesn't happen again.

2) Stayed poised and discuss with Westoff what happened on the play to put the player who got beat in a better position to succeed.

Guess it wasnt that important......

Guess it was just easier to laugh....
If nobody else is with you on this I am. I watched a professionally run organization on Thursday night (NY Giants) and week in and week out I watch my team act like the press says 'A Three Ring Circus".

We deserve all the criticism we get. I did not see Rex do this (I will watch the replay), if you are correct your viewpoint will be mine also.

I have worked for non-professional companies and professional companies and hands down the professionally run ones are ALWAYS and CLEARLY the most successful. Your description of Rex's reaction clearly falls under the un-professional column.

As long as that type of culture continues in this organization the SB will never be within reach. Parcells would have never done that as our HC. He was a true professional in all sense of the word.

shorten his leash? WHO. he is not sub par this year...this is who he is and is An average HC , below average personnel guy. BUT he is better than Tanny and Woody so who exactly will shorten his leash. It's pretty short already because he knows only defense.

Cheering for his team that succeeded on a play is fine. I am not questioning that.

But it has NOTHING to do with coaching on the last play of OT with the game on the line.

With the game on the line, Rex decided it was appropriate to laugh at the opposing coach instead of coach his own player but somehow criticizing this wrong?

Rex promised that he would get better as a HC.

Is this what he meant?

Laughing at the opposing coach instead of coaching his own player who failed on any play, let alone for a game winning FG attempt is worth questioning.
How do you know what he was laughing at, Trollpernicus?

I think its worth discussing

Like many on this board, I invest time, energy, and money in this team and I want a leader who does everything in his power to put his players in the best position to succeed

Sorry, but I'd like to see my team get to the SB once in my life after 40 plus years.

If it means criticizing the HC for not taking the team as serious as I think he should than so be it

The "Worst team in the NFL" looked pretty good last week vs the Raiders who beat the Steelers, who kicked our ass... Where do you come up with Miami being the worst team in the NFL?

How the **** do you know what he was laughing about anyway? Were you standing right next to him. It's not as if the camera was on him the entire time through the ordeal. The laugh on camera was simultaneous to when the TO was announced.

For christ sake, I can't believe I'm even dissecting a laugh on the sideline by a HC, it's just and absolutely ridiculous subject.

To refresh your memory, here is your response from another one of the Revis threads. Sure sounds like he "made his own break" in your opinion.

When you do things right, each and every day, you make your own breaks.

Parcells used to say this all the time. From pre season games, to practices, to rehabbing injuries. You do everything like a winner and success will follow

Where did Revis rehab his concussion last week?

Good riddance

Sick of his act

Can you even name a dolphin wr? With Bush out of the game and a Raw rookie QB against an Rex ryan defense. It takes an act of god to win the game? No Ryans Jets are in trouble

For you and any poster who does not believe that Rex was laughing at the expense of the Dolphins HC bc he called a TO when his own player made a play while Rex' player failed is so far gone it is nt even worth discussing.

I have observed successful coaches my whole life. Ones I've played for and others I've observed. Laughing at opposing coaches misfortune, at any level, has never been in the make up of championship coaches.

how do you explain the Raider win vs the Steelers? If the Steelers were in NY, you all would be asking for Tomlin to be fired, and Ben to be benched! Its hillarious to watch you New Yorkers at work

When you do things the right way, you make your own breaks in a positive way, by winning. When you do things unprofessionally, mst of the time you come up short. The JETS got lucky today and should have come up short.

The Rex Ryan JETS played undisciplined today. There star player acted in an undisciplined way by drinking in public while nursing a concussion. It was a slap in the face to every player on the JETS that does everything to win. Revis' HC followed up this poor choice by doing nothing. The JETS, for all intent purposes, should have lost today. That was my point.

So short sighted. Thought you were better than this. The Steelers played great today and lost in a nail biter. Hard fought till the end. The JETS looked clueless two weeks in a row in every asset of the game, defense, offense, and STs. Their HC laughed at an opposing head coach's misfortune on a play that should of lead to the JETS losing.

But I get it, its the same........
