Not surprising. Help the defense while neglecting the offense.

Oh wait. I forgot. We signed a RB from Houston's PS. Problem solved!!!!
He had a few pretty good RBs in front of him in Houston. I'd bet he has pretty decent talent if Houston signed him to the PS.

Yeah. You did.

And nowhere was it said today McKnight was being viewed as a starter

And Rex said McKnight would still have a role in the O

Screen passes are one part of the offense that has been neglected so far this year. I'd think with the speed this team has (Hill, McKnight, Gates) that would be a really productive type of play. Also easy plays like that would help to bolster Sanchez's confidence and passing numbers. Anything that can be done to get and keep Sanchez productive on the field is worthwhile. Some games all Brady does is throw little dink passes to Welker for 4 quarters and he manages to pile up huge offensive numbers.

Bart Scott and Stephen Hill are not practicing. Scott has a toe injury. Hill a hamstring

McKnight is in a green jersey signifying he is a member of the defense

2010 Draft class now really under the microscope. Wilson starting, Ducasse playing, McKnight changing positions

The Jets are moving running back Joe McKnight to cornerback to compensate for the season-ending injury to Darrelle Revis. McKnight, who has barely played on offense this season, will go to the defensive side of the ball almost exclusively.

"He'll have a role on offense but we're also teaching him to play corner in almost … not quite a full-time capacity but he's going to be over there a ton – in the meetings and everything else," Jets coach Rex Ryan said.

McKnight has practiced at cornerback before. He even was in for one play last year against the Ravens at cornerback, blitzing on the play. He practiced at cornerback in Week 2 when Revis was out with a concussion.
No one should expect McKnight to get major playing time immediately. It is going to take time for him to adjust to the position, which he last played in high school on a full-time basis.

"He's a guy we saw on scout team when he was a rookie that he has the necessary skills to be able to play corner," Ryan said. "He's got the speed, the size, the athleticism, the ball skills, everything you look for in a corner.

I don't think there's any reason not to think Joe McKnight can be a corner.

It's just going to take time, obviously. But I think with [coaches] Dennis Thurman and with Jimmy [O'Neil] over there I think we've got great teachers of the game and I think it will be interesting. I definitely would not bet against Joe McKnight becoming a good corner."

In the varied notes flying around about our line blocking, I haven't yet seen any mention of how Ducasse is doing at guard or if he was used situationally.

More Powell + some Grimes + better run blocking perhaps with Ducasse might give our game a refreshing wrinkle going forward.

Good point. He is probably our second best back behind Powell.

There you go again. Who said anything about McKnight being a starter? My point was that I believe his role needs to be increased in the offense b.c we are starving for a capable RB and he should get a shot. Rather, he is now going to work with the defense.

Basically, I would just rather see him get a shot to help the offense b.c I think the offense needs a lot of help.

But heck, how much worse than Wilson can he be? Might even be an upgrade.

As they point out in the video, Douglass had a cannon arm. Why is it always more impressive when a lefty slings the ball like that?

He's been getting a few series each game..and it is increasing, at least so far.

He is showing his inexperience. Heck Keller has his share of sure TDs dropped over the years.

Nowhere in that post did I assume he would be starting over them.

But, I should clarify. I meant Cro, Wilson and the rest of the guys like Lankster, Trufant, etc. I even think Josh Bush would be a better option than McKnight.

I absolutely loved watching the weekly show with Pat Summerall and Tom Brookshier.

I always felt this way too until we signed Sanchez's backup
